Re: Remington 700 AAC-SD Heavy Barrel
Give it a good cleaning with Hoppes / tight 30 cal bronze brush followed by JB compound on a patch and work it back and forth on any tight spots. McGowan makes a good middle tier barrel. Have a 1-8" 6br on a Savage Striker and it's a consistent 3/8" shooter. They do the Rem / Sav prefits i...

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
A few things I have used to minimize verticle stringing at longer distances. Standard SRP instead of magnum. I only switch to mags when pockets become too loose. More powder.....need a long drop tube. Work up a load with the lowest es/sd at the highest safe velocity. Bullet runout .0015 or less. Use...

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
Primers mildly flattened, no cratering, easy extraction, no smearing from ejector, pockets still fairly tight after 4 fireings.....cci400's are not exactly a heavy duty primer lIke the 450's. If I had to guess low 60k psi. Not much difference between 22 and 23.5 as far as the primers look......that ...

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK
Rebel believe it was you that had written that 1680 worked well with GDs way back. Thats an understatement to say the least.... You rarely see consistently low ES/SD's as this combo outside the ppc/br class cartridges. You're certainly shooting them well. That's impressive. What's your veloci...

What's going on rebel. Thank you dellet for the pics. Finding a load that works is the hard part. I certainly used info from dellet, rebel and others on this site and just eliminated as much of "Murphys Law" as possible while handloading. To others that want to try this load work it ...

Re: Favorite jerky recipe
Yea the Nesco's do work great. Have a local bed bath beyond that is going out of business, I went in there today and grabbed two more at 50% off. I never used a jerky gun. Do you bake it in the oven or use the dehydrator. That looks easy. I've seen where you can roll the seasoned ground into a log a...
