Re: Cutting .223 brass?

I cut all of mine to 1.365 and then when I size them they grow about .010. I then final trim to 1.360 and they are good to go. I haven’t anealed any brass yet, but I haven’t had problems either.

Re: Subsonic hunting!!!!!!!

I got a question. I to worked up a load with 220 SMK and a separate load with 220 Exot from outlaw bullets. You said that your load worked for both Bullets but I have a question. If I measure from the OGIVE, the outlaw bullet will be seated roughly .064 deeper and crest higher pressure which is my t...

Re: Which powder for subs. Having problems.

Didn't get a chance to shoot without the can but I did look down the barrel with the can on and I can see part of the suppressor in the top left corner. I'm thinking it's not centered. Can't see anywhere where the bullets have been hitting but it looks like they should be.

rebel wrote:Yeah if you are hitting sideways at that distance there is a problem some where. Check can alignment, barrel twist, eyeball the bore or use a bore scope if you have access. A 1 in 7 will stabilize way heavier. Something is way wrong.
I'll do some more digging.

Re: Which powder for subs. Having problems.

Yes 25 yards or 30 actually. Did a little more testing today before it started pouring down rain. 7.0 unique, 220 SMK 2.280 - 1003, 953, 951 6.5 unique 208 AMAX unknown velocity thanks to the rain. 220 SMK went through the cardboard sideways 100% and was the big 3" group 208 Amax perfect bullet...

Re: Which powder for subs. Having problems.

I don't know about Unique, but finding where you will start compression for any powder is easy. Take a fired case, primer still in, a bullet should slide in the neck easily. Drop your charge, say 6.3. set a bullet on and measure COL. Record it. That is 100% fill. 95-105% is generally pretty safe so...

Re: Which powder for subs. Having problems.

Jc, take that unique load at around 6 gr. and move your oal down .001 at a time until you start getting improvement. Be careful not to compress, powder level in the case awareness, shoot 5 each as you go down. Do you know what your chamber measures? Cartridge base to ogive. That info would be helpf...
