misc optics for sale

Greetings, I'm cleaning out my closet, and selling off some of the items I'm not using anymore. I figured I'd throw these on here first, and if no interest, off to ebay. I'll update this post if/as things sell. Email me for pics or info. No trades please. Cheers, Rusty 13brv3@gmail.com Only item rem...

Re: 45 Octane Question

I learned a lot about lead buildup from 300BO powder coated bullets. I've never been able to make those stop leading, so I finally resolved to only shoot FMJ rounds. For the amount I shoot, the extra cost is preferable to cleaning lead. For cleaning, I've tried most everything. For the Octane at lea...

Re: Ruger American Ranch SBR?

Why the need to build another upper. Couldn't you have achieved the same thing by installing an adjustable gas block on your first SBR? Should have reduced fouling and if shut completely off, silenced the action. That's exactly what I did initially to test the concept. Unfortunately, I haven't foun...

Re: Ruger American Ranch SBR?

Rusty, Any problems with the bolt/carrier becoming unlocked when there is no spring holding it forward, either when firing or when carrying/handling? Or how do you ensure the bolt remains in the locked position? Thanks. I have a side charger upper (OPS-4), and when it's not on the lower and thus no...

Re: Ruger American Ranch SBR?

Hey Rusty, I'm starting to think of the same thing. Did you ever SBR yours? No, I gave up on the idea, and even sold both of my RARRs. I just couldn't bring myself to go through any more SBR hassle. I already had an SBR AR-15, but I hate how filthy it gets, and wanted to eliminate the action noise....

Re: Berry's Subsonic is available

I bought 100 just because I couldn't help myself, but there's no way I'm buying more at that price.

Re: Leatherhead 220g RN coated test and info thread.

It's great to see both sides of the issue here, and hopefully we can figure out how to resolve it. My primary barrel (90% of my 300BO shooting) is from PSA, 8.5" with 1/7 twist, and it's melonite treated. The secondary rifle is a RARR which is 1/7 twist also, but I'm not sure what the finish is...

Re: Leatherhead 220g RN coated test and info thread.

Both are 1/8 twist. Most are just under supersonic but I did have a batch that went super in the 16" and shot about 100 that ran about 1175 with no problems. Thanks for the information. I typically load for around 1030-1050 fps just to make sure it never goes supersonic. I do load differently ...

Re: Leatherhead 220g RN coated test and info thread.

That's very encouraging! What's the twist rate on your barrels? All mine are 1:7, and I've wondered if that was part of the issue. Also, are you loading for just under subsonic, like 1050 fps, or some other slower speed?

Thanks,
Rusty
