Re: Custom Barrel - Recommended length and profile
My specific question is, is there a particular barrel profile you suggest? I dont want to go too light like a pencil barrel if I am going to have a suppressor on it. I dont want to go heavy palma either. Just wondering if there is a specific "standardized" profile which people suggest. My ...

Custom Barrel - Recommended length and profile
So I am getting a custom 300 blk barrel done and now I have to choose length and profile. This is going on a SBR with a dedicated suppressor so I am thinking 8.5 or 9 inches and medium profile (not under 16oz since I am having a 18 oz suppressor hanging off the front of it). Shooting 2/3 subsonics a...

Re: suppressor size to Db suppression ratio for minimal added length
Not meaning to hijack a thread but I would be interested in seeing some links to see how it is typically done in NZ.

Re: Lightweight BCG
I went with this one. Titanium BCG with adjustable Gas Key straight from the factory and .1 ounce lighter than the "aluminum" 2a. https://rubbercityarmory.com/product/titanium-black-ti-complete-bcg-w-adjustable-gas-key-m16-profile/ I have a liberty leonidas so I couldnt use a adjustable ga...

Re: Custom Barrel - Just to ask
So I talked to X-Caliber and did the math. I can get either 2 custom barrels from X-Caliber or 3 custom barrels from Bartlein (29 inch blank turned into 3 barrels). I only want 2 so I can sell the third to recoup some of the cost. Both will turn out to be roughly the same amount. The Bartlein will j...

Re: Custom Barrel - Just to ask
Interesting, i just looked up the Sig MCX and the 16 inch barrel has 1:6 twist but the 9 inch barrel has 1:5 twist. For my 8.5 barrel, I am hesitant to go that tight of a twist if I am going to shoot fast suppers.

Re: Custom Barrel - Just to ask
wow that is impressive, what length barrel are you using and what is your best target for subsonics at 200?
Thanks again, definitely doing 1:6

Re: Custom Barrel - Just to ask
dellet, thanks for the info. Just to make sure just because I will be spending a lot of money on this. Even if I do some supersonic 110 Barnes black tip, both sub and supper will perform well with a 1:6 twist. I am tempted to stay with the 1:7 but I saw your target in the subsonic shooting thread. I...

Re: Custom Barrel - Just to ask
Interesting, thanks guys, I will probably get the 1:6. Long story short, I was going to have Bartlein Barrels do the blank and a local guy profile it. Bartlein can do the 1:7 but will charge and extra $160 for the 1:6. I am interested enough now in the 1:6 to see what barrel manufacturer you guys kn...
