Re: 458 Socom vs 50 Beowulf
I went with the 458 Socom. 1. Standard GI magazines work well. 2. Headspaces on the shoulder, more reliable ignition, less sensitive to case length. 3. The bullets, whether they be cast (many more usable designs available), true rifle bullets and many designed for the velocity range of the 458 SOCOM...

Re: PSA uppper, can't tighten flash hider to where I want it
I've had excellent results using a couple of pieces of leather. Smooth side touching barrel believe it or not. I use a 4x4 and a spade bit and then cut in 1/2 longitudinally with a band saw. Never tried it but cutting a groove on a couple of 2x4s would work well too.

Try the Lee Factory Crimp Die. Titan Reloading has the best price I've seen. And they don't jack up shipping.

I have a circa 1971 Colt Series 70 that a gunsmith friend heliarced the rear sight dovetail closed milled out for a S&W K frame adjustable sight. Then he hand fitted the barrel and did a trigger pull job that breaks like glass at 3#s. Wonderful gun.

Re: 300blk CVA Scout or T/C hand guns with rifle scopes?
I shoot an Encore with a 16.5" Bergara barrel as both a pistol and rarely as a rifle. No max barrel length for a pistol here in Illinois. Use a 1-4 Primary Arms Rifle scope. Just have to be careful of eye relief. Off hand I tuck it in tight with my left elbow against my chest. With the rifle sc...

Very nice build!
Great to hear you are getting into reloading. It won't save you any money but you will sure shoot a lot more.
The Lyman 49th Edition has a great tutorial on proper practices.
