Re: Hornady 150gr FMJ-BT & COL
FWIW I load 150 SST's to 2.200" and they feed fine in three different AR's and my Ruger bolt gun. Also found that a compressed load of 21.5gn of a1680 to be silly accurate. Like dime sized groups @ 50yards. H110 gets higher velocity but not as accurate. That's exactly where I set mine (2.200&q...

Re: Still confused after reading post..
Ok let's try this again. The charging handle pulls the bolt back but there is absolutely nothing that pulls the charging handle back if the gun is in spec. Not even a hot load. Only thing that can cause the charging handle to come back is if it's bent in the middle to where the bolt ha key hits it ...

Re: Still confused after reading post..
What I find interesting about the 300 BLK is the narrow band of powder drops which can take you from: Light , not strong enough to lock the bolt back or even ejecting the shell TO, DAMN , my charge handle just popped me in the lip. Once you find a load that runs, it's a fun gun to shoot. What so gr...

Re: How long can the brass sit in the wet rotary tumbler before something bad happens to it?
I would imagine if you threw some cases in a river and left for a week they'd turn really dark brown. I doubt it would hurt the cases, they just won't be very shiny. I use Dawn, lemi-shine and SS pin. They are very clean in 2 hours, inside and out. I like my cases to shine so I'd pull them out once ...

Re: Frog Lube = Sticky, Tacky Mess!
I cleaned out my gun safe a few days ago to replace the fabric and redesign the interior. While I was there I pulled out my colt 1903 Pocket pistol and racked it. Damn, I would not slam closed. The last 1/2" looked like it was full of peanut butter. Ahhh, Frog Lube got me again! I stripped with...

Re: 110 grain V Max, flaring case
Well, they all feed, fired and ejected with no issues. I shot 5, sub 1 inch, 5 shot groups yesterday. I was sort of surprised how all 5 groups hit the same spot - 1/2" right, 1/2" high. Powder drops ranging from 16.8 g to 21.4 grains. The 21.4 grain drops were compressed loads using Lil Gu...

Re: 110 grain V Max, flaring case
I loaded 26 rounds earlier. All 2.05" COL, 110gr VMax, with a variety of powder drops. RCBS Black box, SB 300BLK die set, 5 in each powder weight. On my 21st round, all chamfered cases, I crumpled the side of the neck on one case. The bullet seated completely after folding the neck down and wed...

Re: 110 grain V Max, flaring case
I chamfered a case and the 110 bullet slid right in. Thanks guys. I think these will load with no issues. I think I'll chamfer cases more often. I chamfered some 155 grainers today and they slide in more smoothly. I shot a .435" group with these 155's today (unchamfered), behind 15.1 grains of ...
