Re: Weapon Light

You bought a pistol light. ... Edit: I thought I knew the light you were talking about and didn't look at the link.my bad your gonna need a different light with that pistol. Pistol light? Darn! Optics Planet calls it a: "Streamlight TLR-1 HPL Long Gun 775 Lumen Tactical Light." --...

Weapon Light

Clearly, I didn't think this through. I recently bought this Streamlight TLR-1 http://www.opticsplanet.com/streamlight-tlr-1-hpl-long-gun-tactical-light-kit.html with the belled reflector. This reflector is supposed to better illuminate the periphery, making the TLR-1 more "flood" than &qu...

Re: Chrono Craziness

The distance I stated at 10 feet is more of a guideline, it's what USPSA uses most of the time with pistols. The 300blk (especially subs) are in the same realm. If you're shooting a regular 308 or big bore, I would recommend setting it back further. I like the previous member posting to use the whi...

Re: Chrono Craziness

A spare battery is a good thing to keep with the chronograph. Indeed. I carry one in the chrono bag. Some people are known for leaving them on  Anyone we know? Distance from muzzle, once you're past the blast range is negotiable, as long as it's the same every time. Walking out to the end of ...

Re: Chrono Craziness

<photo snipped> Here's what I was talking about when using a target as a sun screen. Simple, cheap, effective. On a side note, I always set my chono up at 12' from the muzzle. When shooting .308 it will blow it off  but it does work great for 5.56 and.300 supers and subs. Aha! I get it now...

Re: Chrono Craziness

My guess would definitely be the brightness. If you're going to use it out in the sun, get a cardboard box to put over it with room to shoot through it still. USPSA matches do this (or a wooden box) and it works great. We're always in the sun in Arizona. Overcast, dull, grey days like back east are...

Re: Chrono Craziness

Hey Worn, Glad to hear your working on loads for the 200 yard challenge. http://www.300blktalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=128&t=98191 Interesting. I've always though of 300 BLK subs as a 50-75 yard round. Maybe I'll give 200 a try after I get my load defined. As for the chronograph, it basically...

Chrono Craziness

I went to the range today to chrono two subsonic loads for my 300 BLK pistol, SBR and Rifle (7.5", 9" and 16" barrels, respectively.) Beautiful, cloudless Arizona day. Low-end Caldwell chrono that I've used maybe six times before. Chrono about 20' away from the bench. I used a couple ...

Re: ATF E-Forms -- Working For You?

when i scanned my trust from paper to PDF i did so at 150 DPI. that got me in under the upload limit easily for a 15 page document. and its more than enough to give a accurate, readable digital document. My version of Adobe (free version) will not let me merge single pages into a complete document....

Re: ATF E-Forms -- Working For You?

I completed one on December 1 (just received that approval today) and I did another one Feb. 17 - no problems with either one. However, the upload is excruciatingly slow. The fact that I have third-world quality Internet may be a factor but I tried numerous times when my Internet was at its best. I...
