Re: My Subsonic Load Development...

Interesting topic. I have a RARR and 8" AR and hope for the same thing. Time is an issue for me as well as organizing my record keeping. So far I don't have an accurate load for the SBR. Part of my issue is I'm running a red dot on the SBR. I'm not sure that is going to work beyond 50yds for me...

Re: How far can you shoot subs?

Those types of challenges are all great ideas. Kind of like Appleseed, great for marksmanship and with reduced ranges by scaling the targets. But I think we need a new thread for those. Pick one and start it. But they aren't in line with this thread and it's original goals, IMHO.

Re: Shooting subs at longer distances -lessons learned

I would like to try the long distance sub shooting. I have recently purchased a good supply of 200gr BT blems/overruns from Midway. I think they are probably Hornady ELD-X bullets. I have a number of typical powders and several other pistol powders that I could try. I, like many others are short on ...

Re: How far can you shoot subs?

I think it would be great to start a new thread for the dots at 50/75/100 what ever. I think there would be quite a bit of interest in that. But, since this thread is titled "How far can you shoot subs" I like it the way it is. I'm hoping to get in on this. Just trying to get set up now. T...

Hope to do it myself one of these days. What rifle and configuration did you use?

Re: Velocity Differences between 9, 12.5, 16" AAC Uppers with Question

Ok, i'll venture a wild ass guess on tbe velocity difference. Probably the gas system for sure. Do you know the sizes of the gas ports? Pistol vs carbine and port size, probably. I appreciate the test as is. You used what you have and gave the results. From what I saw, no.need to keep the 12.5. But ...

Re: Pre-treating suppresser internals?

I have a Mystic on the way and have been wondering if I should coat it. So sounds like it would be a good idea. I plan on using it on a .22 as well as my 300 BLK. I've also wondered if this would be a ok to do on a bolt. Would have to take it apart first of course. I wouldn't want to heat up the spr...

Re: Max Effective Range of Common 300 BLK Projectiles

Ok, I have to ask if anyone has ever shot over a chrony at distance. Say put it out at 100 or 200 yds in front of the target and actually check. Not just using tables from books. Of course I guess maybe they did that to create the chart. I'd like to try that sometime but I'd put some steel in front ...

Re: affordable subsonic projectiles

I used load data from 208 HPBT's in Hornady's manual as an approximate starting point. I measured the length of one 208 since I have them on hand, compared that to the 215 purple, and came up with 2.055 as a minimum OAL and knowing my experience w/ other coated bullets chose 2.095 to start, using c...

Re: PSA 8.5" Upper on Sale

I bought a PSA upper in 5.56 and it was an FN barrel and everything about it was fine. But if you snoozed on this you are too late now. Unless they get more in stock. I went to the web site and I don't even see the price.
