Re: Magpul MBUS with Aero Precision handguard

I have a semi-related question... any problem with the polymer MBUS sights and exposure to heat? I'm putting together an 8" .300BLK SBR and plan to run a 9" Aero Precision rail on it, which will put my suppressor under the rail by about 1.5", just under the front sight. Anyone know if...

Re: Barnes VOR-TX 110gr - failure to expand

This has been my experience. Mine have gone anywhere from 10 to 60 yards. Blood trail is fair but the lung area is like jelly once I dress them out. I'm going to try a few high neck shots. A CNS shot will drop them immediately. I've never recovered a bullet either. I do behind the shoulder shots an...

Re: Ruger American Ranch Rifle 300 Blackout Accuracy

I have had a few fail to fire in mine but I reload. I neck size only and only hunt with once fired ammo from this gun. Neck sizing allows the case to maintain the proper headspace for that specific gun, just don't mix them up and shoot them in another rifle. This is exactly what I do also. I've nev...

Re: 300 BLK Bolt gun picture thread

I use my RARR as an ultralight hunting rifle... It is a very early production Compact model and weighs 6 lbs 7.4 oz as pictured, unloaded. I have reworked the trigger, removed the cheesy styrofoam block from the buttstock and filled with spray-in insulation foam (also used a small amount of insulati...

Re: Ruger American Ranch Rifle 300 blackout

I haven't posted here in a couple months so I figured I'd stop in and see what's new. My own Ranch is on its third sling, second mount/ring/base combination, third scope, second butt plate, just passed the 500 round count... and I'm changing most of it out again. I am making another new sling, order...

Re: Ruger American Ranch Rifle 300 blackout

Boy, it's been dead in here. http://images.yuku.com.s3.amazonaws.com/image/gif/ef43596c40e35ce8d96353881d0ddc5809c539e_t.gif I finally got my 2nd magazine from Ruger earlier this week, after being backordered for almost a month. There are a few differences between it and my original magazine, but bo...

Kimber Adirondack 300 Blackout

It was just announced at SHOT Show that the Kimber Model 84M Adirondack mountain rifle is being offered in 300 Blackout for 2015, adding to the current list of 6.5, 7mm-08, and .308. At an MSRP of $1,768.00, it is still one of the most affordable semi-custom ultra lightweight (4 pounds, 13 ounces) s...

Re: Ruger American Ranch Rifle 300 blackout

32mm objectives will work in low or extra low rings on the factory rail. Thanks for the 411 OuTkAsT! Returning the mediums. Thanks to Amazon Prime! Any time. Looks like the Vortex Hunter rings in Low will fit the bill nicely. At 0.63" centerline to scope base that means the saddle height is .1...

Re: Ruger American Ranch Rifle 300 blackout

32mm objectives will work in low rings on the factory rail just fine, but will still be a little high. The factory rail is .210" and most 1" low rings depending on manufacturer are .130-.235". The Talley Extra Low ringmounts I have are 300 from the top of the receiver and I have a 33m...

Re: Ruger American Ranch Rifle 300 blackout

"Cheapest" and "best" do not compute, as they are generally the opposite of each other. If your Ruger will just be a range gun and won't be knocked around much just about any cheap rings will do. You'll need to determine the correct height. The recoil isn't enough to warrant heav...
