Re: HELP! AR Leading issues

Lilting burns hot. HiTek cooking results in AC hardness. Need to quench after cooking. You need 3% Sb for what you are trying.

Re: Good subsonic boolit mold

I run a 170 RD type PB in my pistol from 850 to 1400 fps. 31-172iirc. Use 2400 or cfe pistol powder. Lancer mag. Haven't tried the 185gr GC yet. Both are for PC.

Load them with base about halfway into the neck. They work fine.

Re: Can I use Hornady Headspace comparator on factory brass and resize my brass to those specs?

Uh, excessive HS will cause primer backout which is then slammed back into the PP and expanding it. After a few times, PP is loose. Can't help it if just using factory ammo but if reloading factory BO brass it does make a difference. BO chambers are all over the place. Ejector swipes, bent rims, etc...

Gee whiz Dellet. Just get a fired 223, hacksaw the shoulder off, debur, lube and stick in die. Factory stuff may fireform to YOUR chamber, or not.Excessive HS just wears PP faster. Use the comaparator if you got it , I don't care.

Re: 110 gr subsonic

Or try pistol powder instead. That lite bullet is so easy to push that sub and function are a fight. Yea lots of crud as the bolt opens too early.

Re: Can I use Hornady Headspace comparator on factory brass and resize my brass to those specs?

Wrong way to set head space. Basically is a 'datum' point on the shoulder for bottleneck cases. Normal case gauge and feeler gauge will work. Proper way is to size , pushing shoulder back slightly till you get easy bolt closure. Or the tape method to measure. Or get go/no-go gauges and pull the ejec...

Re: Subsonic cast plain base vs gas check?

Just today I was shooting my BO pistol with 185gr GC (PC and NO GC) - ~1200 fps. Worked fine. 50/50 COWW/pure alloy. No GC are NOT mandatory for low pressure loads. Do note, you have pistol gas system and that does some base gas cutting when it goes by the hole.

Re: PSD Primer Pockets

Hornady and others make crimp removal tools and rcbs makes a depth cutter. If you don't clean the PP it can be a problem with accumulated junk at the bottom. You do NOT want primers sticking out of the case - not safe. You can deprime (slow and safe) cases if PP is bad, primers still good. I use a h...

Re: Looking for sub-sonic bullet options

Hornady subx expansion down to 900 fps with .46 BC. So maybe it would expand @ 100 on an animal. Still above 900 @ 100 & 1100 fps. Push it to 1400 fps and good to go.
