Re: Best 1in 8" twist bullet weight for 200m accuracy

140-150gr is best, found the cheap hornady 150SPP to be very accurate in my 10" 1:8 pistol but i don't shoot 200 with it. It's a flat base heavy jacket exposed tip one. 140ish gets most powder with wind bucking and weight to have an effect on target. 110 vmax has decent bc and it pretty accurate for...

Not a problem, powder, primers Orr ammo. Nag can bleed out from high temp over a long time, lie years.

Re: Speer Gold Dot 150 BLK

M.S. gives 1850 avg for the GD in 18" 1:10 barrel - 19gr cfeblk. I find the GD with (evidently) softer jacket is not as accurate as the 150SPP from hornady.

Re: Effects of air Temperature on Subsonic load speed

Yes I verified it works, as pointed out above, for us, no practical difference. Unless you are shooting Yeti on Everest (or 50bmg @ 1 mi. or more). NASA site has been dumbed down from ~15yrs ago, mostly for kids now. Trying to push kids toward science now but schools don't teach good math or science...

Re: 115g cast bullets for 300 BO

If you cast with hard alloy and push them hard that mould should work. Like the 110 vmax, have to seat way out to try to fill the freebore. Lube grooves are a problem. I run a slick sided 145gr cast @2k fps OK.

Re: Home Defense Sub-Sonic Ammo

My point to the op who thought of a BO pistol for home defense, house or apt, spend the $ on a couple inexpensive 380,9,40 high cap. pistols & hide around the house. I hear S.G. or hunting rifle all the time, use what you got is OK but there are better choices. An 8 shot 45 will do the job, if you n...

Re: Home Defense Sub-Sonic Ammo

Re: Home Defense Sub-Sonic Ammo

OP said ar pistol. You ever shoot 45 inside without ears? At nite? Those are subs. Shotgun in a house? Ha. Try moving around. Real heavy penetrate a lot, light are hard to cycle ar.

Re: Home Defense Sub-Sonic Ammo

Shooting 145,170 & 185gr cast at fps greater than pistol, low recoil, accurate close. cfe pistol (flash suppressed) cycles the AR. Other choice would be keltek 40sw carbine. 30 rnds beats my 40sw XD.
