Re: What type of the powder by the pound is best?
Just to add, there is a link above to the hi-tek section. hi-tek is not the same as powder coating. I've used both and they each have their advantages. I find myself powdercoating much more than I do hi-tek.

If you go onto cast boolits, look for a gentleman called smoke4320. He sells a very good powder for a low cost. His sale post also lists which colors are best for dry tumbling. If you plan on ES spraying then they all will work. -Ry Edit, here is his link. http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread....

Re: gas port leak
Thanks guys. I'll try out the old block with that permatex you mentioned. Rebel, you are right, the pic really was bad. Then on the way home from the range I stopped in to browse and saw Accurate 1680 on the shelf. One of my buds actually asked me if I just had a 'powder-gasm'. Well I no...

Re: gas port leak
Port size is not the problem. Load data, and buffer weight would be very helpful before going to far down the gas leak rabbit hole. Here is the load data I shared yesterday. http://www.300blktalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=81580&start=10#p946889 2.9 ounce buffer I'll go out on a limb a...

Yes, It is a set screw type.rebel wrote:The hole is plenty big. Another gas block wouldn't be much and you could gauge the fit. If you gas block is a set screw type I would suggest a clamp on as they seem to give more consistent sealing.
