Re: Anyone run major power factor (320) with cast?
So far the Lee 155gn has shown promise. It feeds well and according to Quickload I reach major with 17.0gn Lovex D063 (similar to 1680) when seated to the crimp groove. Test shot 10 rounds yesterday just for function, will try it at the range tonight. I powder coat and use aluminum gas checks.

Re: Anyone run major power factor (320) with cast?
Popper : Thank you for your input. However, major is 320. A 168 gn at 2100 fps would be 352. I seriously doubt a 300 Blackout can achieve that. I'm not interested in changing the chamber. I want everything to be within original spec so I can change barrel when I need to. A shortened Lee 230 still s...

Re: STICKY - Good/Bad brass list converting 5.56->300blk
S&B .223 Rem brass shoots really well out of my .223, so I thought it would be excellent to use for the Blackout. Bohooo... None chambers, the case walls are really fat. Should've read this list before I converted about 200 pieces by hand. Actually I should have tried with one or two even before...

Anyone run major power factor (320) with cast?
Does anyone in here use their 300 BLK for competition with power factor demands? I'm experimenting trying to reach factor 320 (330 would be the goal to have some margin). I'm running an 18" barrel, so I thought this would be easy, but nothing is as it seems. ;) I only use powder coating, don't ...

Re: Do I have to trim twice?
I'm not saying to skip step 2 alltogether, but rather eliminating the need for it by forming the case before it gets cut. After cutting it goes straight for trimming and thereafter chamfering and deburring (step 5). Wouldn't that work?

Do I have to trim twice?
This is my basic setup today: 1. Cut .223-brass at shoulder with mini saw. 2. Deburr and chamfer 3. Size with 300 Blackout full length sizing die. 4. Trim to 1.355" 5. Deburr and chamfer Since I only run cast bullets, I use the Lyman M-die to expand the case mouth. I also use the Lee Factory cr...

Re: 300BLK Worth it for supers only?
I have the 300 BLK as a competition cartridge only, since we are not allowed to hunt with the AR system in Sweden, and for that end the whole thing about subsonic and surpressors goes away as well, supersonic is a must and major power factor (320) is the only thing that counts, otherwise your better...

Re: Lil'Gun and aluminum gas checks for supersonic loads
My apologies, but you actually posted that you found several gas checks but that it was your plainbase bullets that showed the gas cutting.

Re: Lil'Gun and aluminum gas checks for supersonic loads
I have a .357 Maximum converted Super Redhawk revolver where I shoot 180gn bullets with aluminum gas checks. The always fall off after 20-30 yards and there is clear land engraving in them. I have never had any of them gas cut though. The comparison is relevant because of the lack of gas port in the...

Re: Powder coating the super, duper easy way
Found the answer to my question above. What you want to be looking for is " polyester TGIC " (AKA PBTB for Powder By The Pound). You do not want epoxy resin powder (AKA "Harbor Freight" powder). For us Europeans, I ordered from electrostaticMAGIC at http://electrostaticmagic.co....
