Re: Reloading Barnes Tac Tx

Help! The link won't work and I desperately want to see what your recipe is! I tried everything under the sun in terms of powder ladders with the Hornady V-max and can't get it to cluster so I want to try the Barnes since the factory ammo shoots so well! What is your powder range?? You need a pdf r...

Re: Low load density 110 sub loads

I did a ladder using Evergreen 110gr M1 carbine copper coated bullets. Started with 12gr W296 and went up to 20gr. I was trying to to determine at what velocity the bullets might stay together and actually group. Did an earlier workup at 17gr - 20gr and they wouldn't group and the copper coat was sh...

Re: case gauge

The Sheraton gage is cut to minimum SAMMI chamber spec. If the case fits the gauge, it should fit in a SAMMI cut chamber barrel. If it doesn't fit the gauge, it may still fit your barrel's chamber. I just use a comparator for headspace and measure other dimensions with calipers. It's faster for me w...

Re: Any recommendations for the big brother .308

I have a Def10. It has feed and functioned well from the beginning and I've only fed it my reloads.

It's a light rifle for a 308, but not much recoil. If recoil was an issue for your friend, he could always put a brake on it.

Re: labeling and organizing test loads

I use Excel and have a template I use for all load work up. I just add in the relative information for the new load prior to loading the cases. This gets folded up and goes in the ammo box with the loads. Charge wt is written on each case with a sharpe. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5155137707...

Re: Is a Wilson 8" barrel worth $230

I expect a max range of 100yds. I seem to spend most of my time working up loads and putting holes in paper. The 110 TX would be for hunting in the future perhaps, but I have rifles for that. Need non-lead projectiles in CA these days. I could go through various bullets and powders and load combos, ...

Is a Wilson 8" barrel worth $230

I've been pondering on a barrel change for my 300blk pistol. Been using a KAK $100 value line barrel for a few years and the accuracy isn't bad, but can't say it's exceptionally good at 50yds either. About 2" @ 50yds with 110 Tac-X handloads using W296. I was using a 3x scope and would have mos...

Everyone should be using a VPN...... Since Comcast/Xfinity stopped proving virus protection through Norton (unless you rent their gateway/modum), Norton has a program to get direct virus protection from them cheap during the first year. Through their direct service you can select to use a VPN conne...
