Re: AR9mm Finally finished

My first 9mm AR is a Olympic arm that uses sten Mags. I can't tell you the thousands upon thousands of round I have put down that gun. And that was before I had the barrel cut down to 10 inches, and then eventually I had it cut down to 6 inches. I Like it, But always wanted something that used a li...

Re: Need help on case expansion after resizing

Although I have a set of lee dies, I only form with my RCBS die. That being said, you need to start off with the "good" brass. If you use "bad" brass, you will soon learn that all your work/time spent was wasted. So check the headstamp against the thread that lists the brass to use and the brass to ...

Re: Shooters World Socom?

I picked up 2 pounds of SW Socom and loaded a few with 150GD's. Now with the time change, I wont be able to shoot them til the weekend. :)

Re: Thoughts on Annealing Nickel Cases

I confess, I have made 300BO cases from nickel 223 cases. I actually thought that I would make ALL my 300BO cases from nickel cases but that quickly fell to the wayside. When you cut the nickel cases, you will notice how hard they are as it obviously takes a bigger toll on your saw then the brass ca...

Re: A question about bear defense

I had a black bear walk in on me while I was still hunting on the ground this last season. It was late evening so I figured I should let him know I was there so I yelled, "Bear!" He took off away from me but then turned and ran toward me to climb up a big oak tree like he was on fire. He was looking...

Re: Lil'gun and SS 150 gr SP's

Water seems to always form great mushrooms! Just my opinion but I think your target medium was a little on the hard side. It will give you a good comparison to other bullets fired into the same medium, but in no way will predict how it will perform on flesh and bone. The FBI and later others spent a...

Re: Challenges cutting down 556/223 and forming to 300 blackout

Some brand dies are just not made for forming cases....resizing they do fine.....just not forming. I am not sure where Hornady fall in with that....as my only experience (resizing) did not fare well.... I have resized .223/556 cases before cutting off in a RCBS .223 SB die.....I tried that o...

Re: Challenges cutting down 556/223 and forming to 300 blackout

My WAG is your initial cut leaves the case too long. So the case mouth is flared in the forming die. Or may be as simple as a die adjustment. My go to dies are RCBS and Lee. I have one set of Hornady dies that has ruined its last case with me (300 WSM) I could never get them to work for me. My proce...

Re: What's wrong with making 300 BLK brass?

I roll my own. I have only purchased 2 or 3 boxes of the Remy 120g since I picked up a 300BO upper. Why? I like the control it gives me and find cutting and forming to be a relaxing activity. I don't anneal, and other then a odd chrome case or two over the years don't remember any neck problems that...

Re: Case mouth ring separation

I read through this thread twice, didn't see where you tried this: Put a cleaning rod in from the muzzle end and then attach a larger then bore brush, pull the brush upward into the bore (not far, just far enough some of the bristles contact the ring) then push down into the chamber. Go slowly and t...
