Re: Winchester Dear Season XP 300 BLK 150gr ammo?

Here's another thread regarding the XP 300 BLK load. http://www.300blktalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=99497 Yes, I saw that post. It doesn't really tell us how the bullet performs on deer though. I can confirm what the poster said about function and accuracy. It works fine, and groups very well at 1...

Winchester Dear Season XP 300 BLK 150gr ammo?

Found these in LGS and so far proven very accurate from my sons 16" barrel as well as my 9.5" SBR. The large polymer tip supposed to produce copious amounts of expansion in larger .30 cal cartridges at higher velocities. Just wondering if anyone has experience hunting with these yet?

Re: 458 SOCOM??

For the last few months, I've been kind-of interested in getting one of these as a SBR build. Wiki lists 1,900+ fps with a 300 gr bullet. There is not any SAMMI specs on these but it looks like they use AR-15 lowers. Liberty's new 45 cal suppressor is rated to handle one of these. Anyone have one o...

Re: Subsonic testing

I'm working on sub loads with the 208 a-max using re7 and IMR 4227. I've got a load range for the re7 but all I find for 4227 is a max listing of 10.3 grains. Is the where to start and work down or is this as far as I should go up? I see a lot of people mention 9.5 grains as being a good load. I'm ...

Re: Range Report with Chrony results: Need advice

I would say get the build set up correctly, then if you still have problems it will be easier to sort it out. Well, the silencer isn't dedicated to the 300. It's for my 458 socom. So, they are sharing. Am I wasting time working up loads without the silencer? I do plan on using it, but wanted to mak...

Re: Range Report with Chrony results: Need advice

After further inspection (while detail cleaning the SBR today) I verified I'm running a standard buffer, spring and AR-15 bolt carrier. So I suppose my system may have been moving a bit too quick, causing the problems you guys have mentioned. I happen to have not only an H2 buffer, a longer (stronge...
