The only way I've managed to do it was a friend of a friends property out beyond San Antonio. I know getting a lease is common unfortunately.
The running trail I go to (near Kemah) has multiple packs of hogs but not allowed to hunt them because it's in city limits.

Re: Houston Area Gunsmith?
If anyone else is looking, Texas Tactical Gear has a gunsmith and they managed to get the flash hider off. They managed to get it off without cutting but I did give them permission if needed. $60 for the removal would have been $100 if they had to cut it.

Houston Area Gunsmith?
Hi Everyone, Does anyone know a good gunsmith preferably in the SE Houston Area? I recently fell into getting a Scar 20s and wanted to find a smith to take off the factory flash hider so that I can use my direct thread suppressor on it. From what I've read, the factory hulks them on and even people ...

Re: Couple general loading questions
Thanks Bang and Savage. I'll try the pliers, I considered it but I was afraid I would cause damage to that cone/expander button. I'll give it another try next time I'm resizing brass otherwise I'll get a different brand, to replace the depriming pin you have to unscrew the top off the spindle and sl...

Couple general loading questions
I bought a hornady universal decapping die to use in my Lee press because I like it's primer catcher system much better than my new RCBS rock chucker. So far I'm unimpressed with the hornady die though because the cone? that holds the depriming pin keeps coming loose and has snapped 2 pins. Question...

Re: 2019 Hunting Trip and Processing
Wow someone else that knows where Mountain Home is! About 20 minutes from the ranch that I help out at on hwy 41. The property owner lets us get axis and white tail does but have to wait until the last weekend of white tail season after all the buck hunters.

Re: How do you call predators?
I tried the call while sitting in a few other blinds and after not having any luck I wasn't expecting any luck that evening either, I thought a coyote would maybe circle around on the edge of the clearing and scope it out instead of charging right in. Learning experience! The only things I've ever s...

How do you call predators?
I bought an entry level predator call to play around with at my friends ranch because we know coyotes are active on it. The final night of the trip after I gave up on axis doe coming out (plenty of opportunity for white tail but not in season) I started the call and in < 2 minutes a coyote appeared....

Re: First Hog of 2019
Passed a good dozen hogs just north of Huntsville off 45, they were rooting around not far off the highway. Wish I could have taken some but I'm sure that could have resulted in some major pork road kill and a short trip to any of the various prisons there.
