Re: Sittin up with the dead
Great vid! This got me to Amazon to buy a couple of his albums. I forgot how funny RS is. The tradition of sitting with the dead goes back centuries, across continents and religions (including the Yankee States). There are many reasons why people did it. Southerners seem to have carried on the tradi...

Re: SHTF
Thanks plant.one! That makes me think that something similar was done to mine, but a few decades earlier. I'm not familiar with Ruger Mark .22's, so I missed that the sight is original.
I love the forums, I learn stuff all the time!

Re: SHTF
Off topic, but do you know any history on that Ruger? I have one just like it, but a later model (black eagle grips). Barrel length looks to be the same, and definitely the same front sight. I got mine at a gun show in California back in the 1980's. I figured it was a one-off until I saw this one. N...

Re: Form 1 efile return times?
I didn't get an email, I checked on the site. The site said approved, but I asked the ATF guy if I could put the stock on when I called to ask about the watermark. He said no. I don't know that it would have made any real difference, but that's what he said.
Fingers crossed for Jimmyb33.

Re: Form 1 efile return times?
According to ATF, if it has the DRAFT mark you have to wait until they fix it, i.e.; it's not legal to complete your build. It happened to me, and it took 5 emails and three phone calls (10 days or so) before they fixed it.

Re: When will something be done?
This is upsetting: http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2015/06/25/apple-pulls-civil-war-games-showing-confederate-flag-from-its-app-store/?intcmp=latestnews It is ok for Civil War games to have a rebel flag, and it is ok for WWII games to have a Nazi flag. just more of the damned PC insanity. its looking m...

Re: When will something be done?
Raw cotton (from the agricultural South) was taxed heavily (only for export), while finished goods (shirts made in the Northern sweat shops) were not. The North bought the cotton to make the shirts from the South. But the North didn't have to pay export tax, as the raw cotton wasn't leaving the cou...

Re: When will something be done?
The War of Northern Aggression was only tangentially about slavery. It was about the economic oppression of the South by the North. Did you know that, in the 1850's, England could buy a bale of cotton's worth of shirts cheaper than they could buy a bale of cotton? Federal taxes on "unfinished g...
