Re: Nosler 110g Varmageddon Bullets.
Took a monster 10 point trophy buck with one in November. 19.8gr MP-300 One shot head-on through the base of the neck into the lungs.

Re: Varmageddon
curious have any of you guys shot anything like a coyote or deer with the varmageddons ? Shoot a trophy 10-point in November. Head-on, between the shoulders. Shredded the lungs just enough to drop him after a short run. As expected, not a ton of penetration, but if you know that going in, it'll scr...

Just to be clear, you realize there's no way a load like that is cycling your AR, right?

Re: Nube Here what bullet for deer hunting
Short answer: if you can find them, Barnes Tac-TX "black tips" are considered by many the best all around hunting slug for blackout. After that come the 125 ballistic tips and 125 SST. The more frangible "varmint" bullets such as the TNT, V-max, and Varmageddon will kill deer fin...

Cast gas checked flat point 150's over a medium charge of powder. About .12 per bullet, .20 per round.

Re: Anyone hunted with the new Varmageddon yet?
Finally got to try the Varmageddon on a big critter. The day after opener I took what'll probably be the biggest deer I'll ever take. Monster 10 pointer, probably 6 years old. Rack about 160. Anyway, I fired one round head-on pretty much in line with the heart from 50 paces out of an 8" pistol....

Re: First whitetail w/ pistol
I just walked in the door from a week of hunting MN with my blackout pistol, and I also took my first deer with it. Ridiculously big 10 point down near Treasure Island. Nice to see another local blackout hunter.

I believe my 8" is around 5. I can get a more precise measurement when I get home.

Re: Cast Bullets with Gas Checks - Subs or Supers?
Just a guess, are these on Gunbroker? I've run the 150's supersonic over 15-16 gr H-110. The meplat gets a little nicked up, but it's a good cheap plinker. With the 180's you could drop velocity even more which wouldn't hurt. Give em a try. If they're coming out of Roswell NM that's a pretty cool gu...

Re: Recipes from Alliant
Great to know. I just started using MP-300 for 110 Varmageddons, and I thought the upper 19gr range was pushing it. Now I feel a little better.
