Re: STICKY - Good/Bad brass list converting 5.56->300blk
Hi All, I'm new to this forum but I have been using this forum as a resource for a few years now. I just wanted to add some info to this Good/Bad list. The GFL 223 brass that is listed as "good" on this list turned out NOT so good for me. When I load these with a bullet the neck measures ...

Ballistic Tools Case Lube
Put an end to stuck cases with Ballistic Tools Case Lube . Our lube is a special low-tack formula that can be used immediately with no drying time required. A very light, evenly applied coating is all that is necessary. Leaves a slight, non-sticky residue that can be left on cases or easily wiped or...

Re: STICKY - Good/Bad brass list converting 5.56->300blk
Major problem I found was that while forming brass was the development of the hated internal brass ring at the juncture of neck and shoulder, If loading shallow seated boat-tails it is not as noticeable, but when seating flat-base it becomes a problem with chambering. Inside neck reaming of this sm...

TAA is a sticky issue. There is some of it floating around with thicker walls, but a lot of it is only a little thicker like 0.012 - 13.Max713 wrote:I wanted to share a that I ran into some TAA marked brass tonight.
It's listed as good to go, but it consistently measured at .014-.015" for me...

Re: STICKY - Good/Bad brass list converting 5.56->300blk
This may be old news to many, but since I mostly do military brass I just discovered this:
There's COLT 223 headstamped nickel plated casings that are actually steel. Watch out for it if you get commercial mixed brass or range pickups.

Re: STICKY - Good/Bad brass list converting 5.56->300blk
One question, I didnt see ADCOM brass listed? It has an AD headstamp. Try it and see. You can give us neck outer diameter with a 308 bullet seated and we can work backward from there if you have trouble measuring the wall thickness. Most of the headstamps listed are ones that Tlee or myself have en...

Re: STICKY - Good/Bad brass list converting 5.56->300blk
Is there any relationship between thin and thick brass and whether the cartridge is .223 or the higher pressure 5.56 NATO? This thread has convinced me that my future 5.56 ammo will be purchased taking into account the type brass used, if it can be determined. Along with the Good Brass, Bad Brass l...
