Re: Changing col increments

We had a guy here a few years back who proved mathematically that the best load would ALWAYS be found within .016" of max length. Of course he couldn't define max length, and it took him over half a year to produce a MOA load which, upon examination, wasn't exactly MOA. Wasn’t me. I promise. ...

Re: Sighting a scope in for subs and supers?

I have several 300 BLK firearms. It would make sense to dedicate one each to subs and supers, but I like to make things difficult. :P To me it's easiest to use exposed turrets, sight in for supers at 100, and then learn the come-up for subs at various ranges by actual shooting. In general, up 2 mils...

Re: Lockdown loading

I'm a member of a private outdoor range south of Houston. We have individual pistol bays with concrete dividers. The 25/50 yard range has benches about twelve feet apart. At the hundred yard range benches I'd guess are eight feet apart, but even on weekends it's very rare that all are taken. The 300...

I would suspect chronograph error.
This. Unless it's a .22 suppressor and the bullet has to force its way out.

I just can't imagine a suppressor slowing a bullet down at all, much less 900 fps.

Re: Changing col increments

I have noticed that it does not take a huge difference between the maximum length I started with and the ideal length I discovered through testing. We had a guy here a few years back who proved mathematically that the best load would ALWAYS be found within .016" of max length. Of course he couldn't...

Re: Ammo box for 300blk

I use a loading block for the process of charging the cases. Then after seating the bullet they go in a MTM box bullet up, then after seating [crimping?] bullet down. Why not just use a second loading tray between seat and crimp? Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems odd to put rounds in the bo...

Re: Over-pressure only on 2nd and later rounds?

A possibility is that the bullet is moving forward to touch the lands when cycling after firing. Hard to guess without knowing anything about anything.

Re: Hornady 135 FTX

There were a few threads, but I can't find one with much info.

Sounds like you had a good day. Please add to this thread when you shoot some more. I also have a box that I haven't opened yet.

Re: Rings below neck of casing??

Pics definitely would help. You have to upload them to a hosting site like imgur and post a link back here.
