Re: 300blk Subsonic load issues

"I would suggest you try a few different powders to compare 1680 to. In a 10" barrel I think you will find many others will group better, shoot quieter and push less gas into your face. Not to take away from your work and effort, but it sounds like you've tried maybe a half dozen powders. ...

Re: 300blk Subsonic load issues

I don't understand all the hate for 1680. For me it burns clean, I can generally get single digit SD's and better accuracy than many of the faster powders. It's probably one of the best powders for heavy supers. :P Basically if I can't compress it, I don't use it. So for subs that means lon...

Re: 300blk Subsonic load issues

OK, enough is enough!!! My statement, "Yes, I believe there are some powders that just won't fit the bill for certain applications, Trail Boss being first to come to mind.", does NOT even HINT that TB is no good for subs!!! I have used it in 45acp, marlin444 and 223rem subs for years. I us...

Re: 300blk Subsonic load issues

I believe there are too many variables to claim one powder is a fail, over another. I am no reloading expert, as others here, but I learned of some possible variables I believe can effect accuracy of any powder, to the positive, or the negative. 1) case fill, I like some of my powders being loaded j...

Re: First Blackout--Recommendations

Personally, I think the concept of a Chrome Lined Barrel has merit. When I think of a chrome lined barrel, I think about easy cleaning and a hard, wear resistant, surface. But, I have never run one because of reading some reviews about how application of the chrome is everything and how even the bes...

Re: 300blk Subsonic load issues

I found 10.9 grns ofA-1680 to produce clover leaf groups at 33 yds and 3" groups at 100yds, prone in the dirt, with Hornady 225HPBT. I never chrono'ed them. One day I decided to fool around and, now, I use 12 grns. of A-1680 for a one ragged hole group at 33 yds., but, I haven't taken it out an...

Re: First Blackout--Recommendations

http://www.hardenedarms.com/ecCat_31 My harden Arms 300BLK pistol upper has never failed me in the few years I have run it. Some believe price dictates quality...... I did before building my own. Now I say, mil spec parts, are mil spec parts, and none measure up any better than others. I believe mor...

Re: order actions in creating brass

cut 223 debur size/deprime with blk die trim to length debur That originally was my process, and it worked well, but I've refined it. Current process is: 1. Buy factory brass After sending off 500 once fired cases to a guy who advertises processing,...I'm with you bangbangping. And, to add insult t...

Re: To crimp or not to crimp

NO, nothing wrong, just an extra measure safety protocol I acquired when a first shot is absolutely required, and, or, depended on. I do this out of habit even if I utilize the full force of the charging handle/buffer spring. It only takes a fraction of a second to hold your weapon with one hand, tw...
