Re: What's wrong with making 300 BLK brass?
I’m new at this so yeah, after not being able to extract the shell from a die I finally tossed it only to find out that Dillon would of replaced it. I use case lube but I noticed that the cases that were annealed did t have much resistance when I resized them compared to the cases that were not anne...

Re: What's wrong with making 300 BLK brass?
Maybe it’s just me but I have gone through a couple of resizing dies converting.556 to 300 BLK due to the brass getting jammed in the die. One thing I have noticed is if after cutting the brass down if I anneal it before resizing then it goes smoothly. The ones that I haven’t annealed are harder to ...

Re: Case Mouth 300 not .308
Ok, I annealed my brass, resized and trimmed it again and lo and behold to came out to .303 which is "good enough for the girls I date". Thanks for your input everyone. I am now re-polishing it and will move on to the next step of reloading. I will let you know how it goes. I miss America

Re: Case Mouth 300 not .308
Sorry, I am using a digital caliper and measuring both inside and outside. I do reset to zero each time when using it. Brass is head stamped T W 7 6, 223 REM, R A 5 6. The Remington mic's out at .302 while the others are between .299 and 300 I just talked to Roger at K&M Services who makes sever...

Re: Case Mouth 300 not .308
I'm using assorted brass with the same results, (I'm a brass hog and have always kept mine over the years). This might sound dumb but..."Is there a difference between a "Resizing Die and a reforming Die?" The guy at Dillon asked me if I was using a reforming die and I told him "I...

Case Mouth 300 not .308
I have a Redding Die set for the .300BLK on a Dillon 550B press. I cut down my .223 brass then ran it through the resizing die and checked it with a Wilson case gauge which showed good. Alas, when I mic'd the inside diameter of the case mouth it is too small, 300 and I can't get my K&M neck camf...
