as close as I come to doing this is I have dropped some right out of the mold in to a pan of cold water, to get a case hardening effect it does work well

My bear hunting around here is a bit different the area I can hunt is deer ,pig or bear what shows up is what gets shot, I have used a 45/70 for over 5 years it does the job, over kill I do believe, I think the 300 Blk. for deer I would have no issue , the bear if the shot was over 200yards I would ...

I ended up taking the cheap way out found a striped rockriver 9mm lower local , and a rock river 9mm upper from Brownells , and just had to put together the lower and I did have the bolt ramped so that it uses the standard AR hammer, it really went to my advantage to just look around for the parts, ...

I do order more from midway than midsouth I have had miner shipping issue mostly postal service screw-ups both fixed them any way.
Even with this Forum going around I am sure they want to try to fix this before any there reputation takes to big a hit.

I am using a COL of 2.240 crimped in tight with factory crimp die or they will push in during feeding
and as per Hornady #9 max load of W296 of 16.0 gr. for 1800 fps which is max speed from rockey mountain reloading for this bullet.

pushing a 150 gr. bullet with 18 gr of IMR4227 is no problem the Hornady 150gr round nose I have seen and read of many trying it, including my self, but have not found much about getting reliable feeding in an AR-15
I loaded mine in .308 Win. for the 300 AAC Blackout they was trouble.

with Lee now saying there 300 AAC Blackout dies are to spec's for case forming I would look to any other brand for the sizing die

Is it hand loads or factory ammo?
I have to run .5 gr. of powder over max load to get mine to cycle the way it should and push the bolt back far enough to catch the stop on the last round.

these plated 150gr. bullets are as cheap as I am coming up with I am happy with them .
at the local 100 yard range it does fine low budget fun
