Welcome to the forum

As for late I have seen an uptick in the activity here on 300 BLK talk. I would like to welcome some of our newer folks, some of which I have already conversed with and some not. Some of you will be here awhile, some of you will be one hit wonders, others may never post and just read. One and all I ...

Re: Concerns with storing W296 in garage Central Texas

I wouldn't. NC here, same crap. Super high humidity in the summer. Get an old fridge and store it in that if you have to. Being careful ( or anal if you choose ) about moisture and temperature isn't a joke when it comes to reloading components.

Re: What's causing this?

Agreed, your crimp looks heavy to and with the die to far down it may be crimping before the bullet is fully seated which deforms the shoulder.

Re: Best affordable reloading scale

To quote dellet -
"Learning to read wind and mirage will do more to reduce group size than a $10,000 pharmaceutical grade scale."
and to add the effects of light. Deep down the rabbit hole but it makes a difference.

Re: Best affordable reloading scale

I’m almost willing to bet I can throw charges faster and as least as repeatable as most sub $1000 systems. Prices are always coming down so I won’t stick my neck out too far. Notice the word repeatable, it’s very important. A good electronic is always likely to be more accurate, until it drifts due...

You're way overgassed. Most pistol gassed ARs are. Get you one of these - https://slrrifleworks.com/sentry-7-clam ... gas-block/
edit - palmetto doesn't know a thing, just assured that their stuff will cycle everything. The gas port is probably huge.

Re: Best affordable reloading scale

@dellet and @rebel.... curious what y’alls choice for measuring charges is? An old Ohaus 505 and an Older RCBS (OHAUS) 10/10 are my preferred scales. I also use a trickler, drop tubes and several Lee dippers. My method is the speed of smell :P But I don't make as many mistakes that way. That is "I"...

Re: 300 + Yards

I took 110 vmax factory loaded ( gasp! ) stuff and busted 5 clays in a row at 300. That was after figuring dope and my then 19 year old son betting I couldn't do it. 8) Thank God I showed him and his college buddies what an old man could do, even the sun shines on a dog's butt once and awhile :oops...

Re: Best affordable reloading scale

Slower is not bad, it's more precise. There are some amazing digital stuff out there, some of the match guys spend thousands. It's funny that they always compare them to the precision of a quality beam scale.
