Re: machine guns

As I recall, and outlined here , the issue was two fold. First, an inquiry letter was sent to the ATF asking why a trust required a background check upon receipt of an NFA item, basically suggesting that the ATF shouldn't be issuing stamps to those that wouldn't/couldn't/shouldn't pass a background...

Re: machine guns

One thing people seem to have a hard time understanding is that the stamp is not a license to own an NFA firearm. The stamp is evidence that you have paid the tax and registered the NFA firearm. If the ATF NFA Branch mistakenly issues you a stamp for a firearm you cannot legally possess, the stamp d...

Re: I'm just going to leave this here... Suppressors could become non nfa

The Supreme Court is a domestic enemy of We the People and invalid, Constitutionally. All I care about is what the Founders intended, and that was for us to have anything the military does. The 2nd states ARMS, not merely firearms Yes I know with that and a few bucks I can buy a cup of coffee And I...

Re: I'm just going to leave this here... Suppressors could become non nfa

And to add some examples closer to the subject at hand, the Supreme Court has held that the 2nd Amendment bars states from prohibiting private ownership of firearms, but it has NOT invalidated state regulations short of this, including licensing and registration schemes and prohibitions on magazines...

Re: I'm just going to leave this here... Suppressors could become non nfa

Actually there are rather smart non-lawyer types who have managed to take things pretty far and got the ball rolling on this issue a few years ago. The Montana Firearms Freedom act started to take shape close to ten years ago and challenged the commerce clause from the other direction. If it is mad...

Re: I'm just going to leave this here... Suppressors could become non nfa

Jesus, you sound like a gun grabber trying to say that the 2A is "complicated" and that "well regulated" means something that it doesn't. Again, this is real simple, states pulled a bunch of crap like this under The Articles. The ICC was put in place to prevent this from happeni...

Re: I'm just going to leave this here... Suppressors could become non nfa

You tell me "no it doesn't", then go on to tell me how it's too complicated unless you're a legal elite?! Seriously dude, this is not hard. Do you argue with doctors claiming your common sense means you know more about medicine than they do? Would you think your gut instincts are better t...

Re: I'm just going to leave this here... Suppressors could become non nfa

The bill pre-empts states by modifying Title 18: Section 927 No, it does not pre-empt states any more than the existing NFA regime pre-empts states that ban suppressors, machine guns, or SBRs. Federal law can pre-empt state law but that doesn't mean it always does pre-empt state law. The sphere of ...

Re: Optics - What are you using ?

I had an Aimpoint H-1 Micro but switched it off for an SWFA SS Classic 1-4x24 - similar to the Viper PST, different reticle and a little less expensive but still pretty nice quality. The Aimpoint is now on a 5.56mm rifle. I love the Aimpoints but IMO if you're ever going to shoot at anything over 10...

Re: 300BLK becoming even more mainstream

Turns out the <300yd range is more popular than people think. More so when suppressed. All I ever heard from haters were trajectory/energy comparisons in the 500-1000yd ranges. And most of the drugstore cowboys making such statements have never fired a round at anything over 300 yards in their life...
