Re: Straight Pull Bolt Action Project Decision Help!
I threw something like this together a while back, with the goal being to use only parts that were laying around the shop and not dusting off the credit card. The only thing I wound up buying new was a tighter twist 1-8 barrel blank for the 2nd version. The spare-parts blank I used for the 1st incar...

Re: Frog Lube = Sticky, Tacky Mess!
I talked to a gunsmith years ago who said most of his business was from cleaning guns gummed up with WD40 . To me WD40 is only useful as a cosmoline solvent; it's perfect for that. Maybe it will take off Frog Lube too...

Re: Single shot light subs sticky
I probably read it 40-45 years ago so don't hold me to it, but it seems like the factory didn't recommend light loads with half-jacket bullets. IIRC it is possible to stick a jacket in the barrel.cwlongshot wrote:WOW!!

Re: Check Your RCBS 300 AAC Blackout Taper Crimp Dies
I got two of the taper crimp seaters after a long back order. One from Midway, the other from Brownells. Both were packaged wrong. Both going back. Thanks for the heads up. I called RCBS today and a very pleasant CS rep gave me instructions for shipping and replacement. No problem at this point. Th...

Re: barrel length's impact on sound suppression?
I have AAC's 9" and 16" uppers and a 762-SDN-6. The 16" is noticeably quieter. The 9" isn't bad, the 16" is just better as far as noise goes. I don't have any meter data.
