I helped a friend of mine submit his application on 1/30/2015. He received his APPROVED e-mail yesterday, 3/23/2015. 52 days.

I submitted my eForm (Form 1) for an SBR on 28 July and received approval today (19 August)! That's 22 days!

I tumble, cut/trim, deburr, size and de-cap, and tumble all my converted brass. I have my jig set to a point that is consistently getting the resized brass at 1.368" (+- .001"). I tried the size first before trimming and that was a lot more work. My $0.02.

How much did your smith complain about cutting that melonite barrel down? I've heard those things are hell on tools. I've thought about eventually turning my 16" WASP into a shorty if I ever decide to SBR my lower. Steve at ADCO Firearms did the work on my barrel. They always do excellent work...

The Brakeout noise level bother you ? I've got the Brakeout 2.0 on my bolt gun, and was thinking about putting one on my SBR. The 9 inch recoils a bit more than the 16 inch. No, not at all. I've experienced much louder brakes than the Brakeout. I will, however, be checking out the 2.0 soon (I hope).
