Re: Life on the Edge

Thank you everyone! I had a go with making a wet print of the photo I shot Sunday. This is a direct scan from an 8"x10" wet print I made today. I used a #4 contrast filter and exposed the paper for 55 seconds. I then burned the sky in for 20 seconds to get definition in the sky. Printed on...

Life on the Edge

Just a photo I took this morning with my 4x5 large format camera. This one was taken about 10 minutes from home, in "The Narrows" area of the Big Thompson Canyon. The rock walls are full of crystalline structures, so they really shine when the light hits them right. I'm starting to get the...

Re: The Grand Canyon -- Some Photos

Here are a few more. This was taken looking down Mohave Point http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2819/12296693805_896ee6f7fe_o.jpg Mohave-Point by Colorado CJ , on Flickr These two were taken earlier in the day with the 14mm UltraWide lens. This lens is so wide on a full frame camera, that I had to be ca...

Re: The Grand Canyon -- Some Photos

Thanks everyone! Here's a couple more taken with the Samyang 35mm F1.4 lens. Tomorrow I'll process and post some taken with my ultrawide 14mm lens (which is EXTREMELY wide on a full frame camera). http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3826/12280680026_d7852f0f62_o.jpg Evening's Light by Colorado CJ , on Fli...

The Grand Canyon -- Some Photos

Hello everyone, life seems to have got in the way and I haven't shot/posted in a while. Last week though, I took a short trip with my mom and dad through the desert south west. As usual on trips, my camera came along for the ride. Our main destination was the Grand Canyon, with side trips to try to ...

An Evening in the High Country

I spent the day hiking and taking some more photos with my medium format film camera. Shooting digital for so many years, I am very much enjoying the change of pace that shooting film offers. It puts you in a different, much more contemplative frame of mind. There is no "chimping" possible...

Horsetooth Rock Trail

Yesterday afternoon I went for a short hike before sunset. This is a local trail system that has 70 miles of trails in it. I only had a couple hours before sun set, so I went on the 5 mile Horsetooth Rock Trail. This trail climbs from the trail head and heads up to Horsetooth Rock, from which the tr...

Re: Hiking in the Snowy Range, Wyoming -- Photos

Thank you everyone, glad you enjoyed them! Here are a few more photos from the hike  I just finished developing my first roll of film ever! It is also the first roll of film out of my new medium format camera, a Mamiya RB67 Pro S. The film is hanging up to dry right now. I am hoping to get an e...

Hiking in the Snowy Range, Wyoming -- Photos

All of the recent floods has nearly cut off mountain access from the whole of northern Colorado. Needing to get my mountain fix and a little photography in on the side, I headed up to Wyoming for the day. The Snowy Range is a mountain range in southeast Wyoming, about 30 miles to the west of Laramie...
