Oh, I'm working on a solution, just need to figure out how strong is strong enough.

Re: What's the tightest you've found factory handguards?
So for testing purposes, what is the min torque I should anticipate? Or, when do we think the receiver will just crack anyway? I've had other barrels that I've had to use a breaker bar, and tap on the bar with a hammer, and the resulting completed upper was fine. I know the standard dpms delrin fixt...

What's the tightest you've found factory handguards?
I'm creating a upper fixture, and was wondering what's the highest ft lbs one might reasonably encounter breaking free a barrel nut. I understand 30-80 is spec, but not everyone assembling the uppers is doing it to spec. I just loosened one done by a private party, and it was well over 120.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: 16" Barrel with mid-length gas tube
This is like using a rifle length gas on a 5.56. With a 14.5 inch barrel. You can even use a pistol length with a 16 in blk. Carbine length is already like using a midlength on a 16 incher. Unless you mean you want to shoot +P supersonics out of an 18 or 20 inch barrel, then midlength really doesn't...

Re: How much loss of accuracy in an 9" barrel vs a 16" barre
Um, MOA is a angular measurement, not a grouping size. Until inconsistent outside forces act on the projectile, distance matters not. I vote for .25 inch MOA from 9 inch. So youre shooting at 25 yards? :?: If quality remains consistent there is no loss in inherent accuracy going shorter. What can ch...

Re: Question about 300 BLK Bullet Drop on First Few Rounds
Sounds like it's over engineered. Check headspace, check barrel nut tightness, and get a chronograph. More like changing brakes than making a precision rocket nozzle. (It ain't rocket science, but you do have to do it right.)

Re: Upper Receiver , To Side Charge or Not
Also allows you to get way further up on the receiver and use a pistol tube or collapsed m4 stock and still get a solid cheek weld.
My ops 4 is great. But I'm not selling it for less than a lot.

Check gas block alignment.

Re: Pistol barrel length question
8 inch is cool and quite a bit easier to fit in different containers. 10.5 inch is better for bullet speed and reliability. I have a 10.5, and next blk will be an 8, but for a take down gun project.
