Re: Is 7.62 the same as .308 - I know it's supposed to be but is it?

The answer is yes to the first question. Of the ads for 7.62 bullets I've looked at, somewhere in the copy will be the inch diameter or something to make it clear if they are for 7.62x39 (.311") or 7.62 nato (.308").

Re: After 11 months my tax stamps finally arrive.

Got some range time today with the RARR and the SDN-6. :D I found a couple boxes Remington 220gr. and ran a few supersonic handloads just for fun. Noise level was what I expected. Some pop as the heavy slug exits the muzzle but not enough to freak out the neighbors and is pleasant to shoot without h...

Re: After 11 months my tax stamps finally arrive.

The SDN-6 appealed to me because is was reasonably quiet for the 300 BO, was compact enough for the pistol AR so as to be less unwieldy and the quick mount system makes for easy cold swaps to different guns. Price was also a factor but not an overriding one.

After 11 months my tax stamps finally arrive.

Patience is rewarded and I brought home my two AAC silencers. One is my second Pilot model that will live mostly on my Ruger American bolt action .22. Quieter than my air guns with Eley subsonic hollow points. The other is a SDN-6 that will move between a 300 Blackout pistol and a RARR. Can hardly w...

Re: Another happy NFA jailbreak!!!

I'm glad someone is getting their stamps. The first one I got took 13 months to get. I got two more and it now been 10 months and still waiting. From what the dealer tells me. this is pretty typical. Those that say three weeks must have some pull somewhere.

Re: RARR misfires

The other day I took thirteen cartridges to the range. They were loaded with CCI450 Magnum primers. Nine needed to be hit twice to fire. Today I took nineteen cartridges loaded with CCI BR-4 primers. Two of them required a second hit. Three didn't fire even with the second hit. Does anyone know if ...

Re: 300 BLK MGM Contender barrel? Or CVA Scout V2 pistol?

My choice would be to go for a MGM Contender pistol barrel. The trigger on the pre-G2 frames can be outstanding and it would cost less than the other options you listed and you can get the barrel threaded if you want to play with suppressors. It will take some time to have one custom made but probab...

Re: CCI 400?

I've had issues with the 450s in my Ruger and Encore 300 blackouts not going off on the first primer strike. Regular 400s work just fine for me even with H110 loads.

Re: Leaking H110

A friend of mine fixed the leaking Lee by lapping the internal contact surfaces with valve grinding compound to get a better fit. I just switched to my Lyman 55 and only use the Lee for stick powders.

Re: 30-30 or 30 carbine

Speer makes a 130 grain flat point that MAY feed in an AR. The point is fairly small and the tip is more protected than typical 30-30 bullets plus it has a more slender profile that might feed well. I haven't tried them yet in the 300 AR but it is on my to-do list.
