Re: Difference in precision with suppressor? (Bolt Gun)
Rob would be the one to chime in on this one. From what I have heard and read, silencers more often than not increase accuracy. People still incorrectly call them silencers? I'm inclined to agree with you, but a friend of mine who happens to be a major manufacturer of such items frequently calls th...

Re: Hello everyone! Greetings from Wilson Combat!
Well, after about 21 weeks of waiting, my Wilson Combat 16" fluted 1:7 Recon barrel is finally on the way. I've had all of the other stuff I needed to build my upper sitting in a box for months. By the the middle of next it will be built and I can start in on subsonic load development. As painf...

Re: Clean burning powder for subs (pics)
Interesting. It seems that it should run with that load and lightweight buffer. I'm building a dedicated subsonic 1:7, 16" with a Wilson Combat barrel that has a 0.106" gas port and I don't think it can be much larger than that as the gas tube is only 0.116". Since Wilson says the ba...

Re: Powders for 300 Blk Out
Yep, but no real mods here, so it's just a free for all. I started some powder specific threads in handloading, but it doesn't see to be catching on. Damned shame as the site could be the hub of 300 BLK, just a lack of interest/effort. Couldn't agree more. The lack of any kind of organization in th...

Re: Switchblock Gas port Diameters for 300 Whisper/Blackout
I agree, it should lock back. The suppressor will undoubtedly increase the gas pressure, but I like a rifle to function with or without suppressor. I don't have any other ideas as to why it won't run. I have zero experience with cast bullets in ARs, so I don't know how that might be affecting the si...

Re: Switchblock Gas port Diameters for 300 Whisper/Blackout
I had a freind out this week and we tried every single powder I had with 240 grain cast bullets. None, I repeat none, of the loads were able to lock back on an empty magazine below the speed of sound. His port was drilled at .120" and the gas block was centered correctly. Everything was correc...

Good thought with the .22 scope. I'll be interested to see how this works out for you. This makes me wonder is there are any .22 bdc reticles that would work for the 240 grain subs.

Re: Clean burning powder for subs (pics)
Good article. It certainly explains why the pistol length gas systems work so well for subs. BTW, I suspect the guy that suggested a .125" drill was just choosing a commonly available size that was slightly larger than the tube size.
