Re: Someone explain rifling to me please.
Ok so I have two .300blk rifles with two different rifling. One is a 8" 1/7 and the other is a 14.5" 1/8. Now I sort of get the rifling in a 5.56 but in the .300blk the bullets vary from 110gr. to over 200gr. Which is better for subs and which one is better for supers? Both will work fine...

Re: Should you really build your own upper?
Here's the thing. Buy quality parts and do research. Most of the causes of non working 300blk rifles are too small gas ports or too heavy a buffer. Only problem I've ever had was with a core 15 barrel, the chamber was too tight and rounds would not extract.

Re: Effective muzzle device for short barrel on 5.56 upper?
AAC Blackout flash suppressor is great for a short barrel. And also quieter than a lot of other muzzle devices. A lot of the "direct sound downrange" stuff is not actually effective at what they claim to do. I agree here. As long as the gases aren't directed directly out the sides and bac...

Re: WHY does 300blk cycle subsonic rounds?
Firstly, it was designed to cycle subsonic loads, 5.56 and 7.62x51 were not. Case volume and bore diameter also play a role, you can generate enough gas in the 300blk case with a 220gr bullet to cycle the action and the bore diameter is large enough that enough gas pressure makes it through the gas ...

Re: laser engraving touch up gone wrong
Aluminum blackeners only work on exposed bare aluminum, what you're seeing is the anodizing blocking the alumablack. Does the laser engraving not go deep enough to expose "bare" aluminum? It does not. Anodizing is pretty much a surface treatment, you'll notice on some areas of an AR recei...

Re: Super only build... please offer info on parts n load da
I like Wilson combat barrels, you could probably order a 20" from them as they make them for the 7.62x40WT. If you're loading for best supersonic performance and you're limited to 10 rounds you could use shorter bullets like the vmax loaded out a little longer for more powder capacity.

Re: For you Virgina Natives and the nearby.
They definitely have the gemtech silencer subsonic in 300blk and .22LR and a bunch of cases of the Barnes VORTX, I nearly lost it when I saw so many cases, it was like I had died and gone to heaven, except it was better because I was alive in a gun shop! The people there were knowledgable too, very...
