Re: 7.62 147grain fmj and accurate 1680
This is the workup I have been using as my plinking / run & gun load for a few years with great success. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg59/DarkSoulracing/300loadup.png I am switching to H110 (availability) and will start to do my workups on that as well, but this is where I am guessing Ill...

Re: Need some help reloading 300blk
I shoot mostly 147g milsurp bullets that I get from Hitech ammo , I am going to bet they are out of stock ATM, but just google 147g M80 bullets and there are several places that carry them at usually about $100 per 1k or so. I shoot out of a 16" Wilson barrel, 1-8 twist I believe, and load to s...

My Urban / winter camo 300 Blk "The Polar Bear"
To start, I swear there is a rifle in there :D When i started it, I used the Rhodesian Camo masks, but used urban colors. When it was done, obviously, it could go either way, and a friend of mine called it the polar bear gun, so it sort of stuck. I kept trying to get good pics of it, but my photogra...

Re: Who makes the 147 M80 bullets ?
For Quickload I use the PMC .308 147g FMJ-BT , dimensionally they are the closest I have found on QL.

Re: A1680 Load Check
I talked to one of the guys at accurate today and he told me everything should be GTG if I follow that chart. He said go with the 150 data as it is the closest in weight. He also mentioned that A1680 was very compatible and that they compacted it 125%? So they are loading compressed powder charge a...

Re: A1680 Load Check
Yes, Its WC680, Lot #47271 I am running SS rounds using the milsurp 147g M80 projectiles, and have been averaging in the 1850fps range, so about 75fps off of what Quickload states. Keep in mind that QL is estimates as well, so you cannot always bank on that, and of course it is always wise to use a ...

I load A1680 (well, milsurp equivalent) at 18.6g on the M80 projectiles-

Re: New to reloading just because of the 300 BLK
Personally, I would recommend a Dillon 550, it costs more, but IMO, worth every cent. Although you do in fact need a good reloading book (I have several of the Lyman books) the load data for 300 BLK is not in them yet, I am sure it will be added in the next edition though. Also, keep in mind, if you...

Re: Lapping of upper receiver or barrel help?
Dolomite, how are you holding the upper to the tube mandrel you cut? Is it just pressed on, or being held from the back with a live center?

Re: 147 grain FMJ Loads
Just a quick bit of info, I exchanged a few PMs with the guy from AAC, and the max pressure for the 300BO is actually 64000, the same as a 5.56 cartridge, so on the printout above, it has a max pressure of 55k psi (should be 64k) so the data is actually not quite accurate in that the pressure gener...
