Re: Load Catalog: Subsonic A1680, above 200gr
Nice shooting! What distance was that at? I had to look twice at the FIVE shot group. Thanks, that was shot at 25 yards. Those 220gr are freaking accurate. They are still just as accurate at 50 yards but have about a 6" bullet drop. I was also shocked that all five shots went through basically...

Re: Barnes 110 gr Tac-TX - Backorder direct from Barnes
I ordered some from Barnes on 8/20. At the time they told me it would be 4-6 weeks. I called Barnes today and they said they are still 1 to 2 months from filling my order. So after waiting 2 months it looks like I have another 2 months to wait.... and so it goes  Good grief! I guess I better ...

Re: Load Catalog: Supersonic H110, 110gr through 150gr
Today I worked up a load using the Hornady 110gr V-Max using Hodgdon H110. The load data says to start at 18.8gr and 20.0gr is the max. 19.0gr is what worked well with my rifle and I began seeing pressure signs at 19.4gr and 19.6gr so I did not even shoot the loads of 19.8 or 20.0 that I brought. No...

Re: Built My Own Annealing Setup
That looks good, thanks for sharing your idea. Are you supposed to water quench or air cool the brass? Thanks You could do either, but I quench in water to stop any further heat transfer. Brass is a great conductor of heat and you do not want the heat getting to the body or especially the head and ...

Re: Built My Own Annealing Setup
Cool. A single torch and a drill with a socket to hold the brass seems to work pretty well for me. Why did you need to add the second flame? Yeah I thought about just doing it with a single torch and tested some brass but it didn't turn out as well as with two torches. Most annealing stations I hav...

Built My Own Annealing Setup
I have been wanting to start annealing my brass, especially brass that I am converting from 5.56 brass since the new neck of the 300BLK is brass that was below the shoulder of the 5.56 and not as soft as it should be. Annealing machines are expensive and other methods I have seen do not anneal the b...

Re: Barnes 110gr TAC-TX ---IN STOCK!!!!
I haven't seen the Barnes store have the black tips in-stock in a LONG time; heck, anyone else for that matter.

Re: Barnes 110gr TAC-TX Black Tip---IN STOCK!!!!
Thanks for the info, they make it confusing with having the exact same name, no picture, and only a different part number.randyrucker wrote:The 30851 bullet is just a standard 30 cal bullet. The 30811 is the black tip specifically tapered for 300 AAC blkout.
