I put the Leupold Mark AR 3-9x mil dot on mine (may be a tad over "budget") with the plan to mount a micro red dot at 45deg as you mentioned. I'll be taking it deer hunting this year and I think it will be plenty for those 100-200yd shots. Looked great at 100.

Looks like I may have lucked out. I got three boxes delivered recently from Midway of the lot# in the first post but no .223 in it.
