Re: Color code for Loctite
hardcase Be careful relying on the info put forth in this thread - - there is some clearly incorrect information here (in multiple posts). Some posters are speaking from their own experiences and that's fine but that does not mean their experience encompasses the full spectrum of situations out ther...

Re: Discoloration on bolt tail
I just finished my first 300 build and after firing one box of Varmmageddon 110 gr rounds, I found this. The rifle has a Ballistic Advantage 8" bbl with pistol gas. Thoughts? There is nothing wrong with your upper and what you are seeing is somewhat common, especially with barrels that have a ...

Re: More 16 inch AAC barrels
Nice reply to the 2 star review. I am not sure who made that reply because the name of the guy who replied is only the screen name of "BigBro50". The reply of "BigBro50" is about as personally confrontational and caustic as one can be. While it seems true that the 2 star poster ...

Re: Alternative to rockset
When you say 60 lbs - - do you mean 60 ft lbs or 60 inch lbs - - huge difference! If it's 60 ft lbs and the threading is 5/8" x 24 TPI - you are going to be stressing and/or stretching the barrel metal to the point accuracy is going to go south (now on a 300 BO that may not be such a big issue)...

Re: New vs Once-Fired: What say you
If consistent tight accuracy is an issue, factory brass with an annealed neck/shoulder area is what you should consider (i.e. the original Remington factory brass is ideal for this). If 1.5" - 2" + groups at 100 yards are fine for your use, then the once fired converted brass is fine for t...

Re: New guy needs some help
Jetled I meant no disrespect, but I said what I did because a wake up call needed to be said. The lack of a strong and positive catch for a charging handle can be very dangerous and that needs to be kept in mind. Many tend to think of their AR-15's as play toys for big boys and they can be, but they...

Re: New guy needs some help
One of two things now: 1. I stick with my original post; or 2. Need to pass it off to someone to knows what they're doing with AR's who can look at it up close and personal and properly diagnose the problem. I still think if you tried it with a standard charging handle and the charging handle jumps ...

Re: New guy needs some help
You did not tell us anything about the aftermarket charging handle in your first post - it sure doesn't appear in the video like it's latching correctly. How about trying a standard charging handle that has a latch - - if the charging handle latches correctly it would never do what you see in the vi...

Re: New guy needs some help
Okay, new here and bringing a problem I cant remedy. So here goes.... I have an 8 inch Aero barrel, teamed with an SLR adjustable block, a FA bcg, Carbine buffer, standard spring, in a MUR1 upper. The problem: When I adjust my gas to properly cycle/ bolt hold open MY CHARGING HANDLE POPS LOOSE What...

Re: BCG stuck..............
AAC puts on their 51t muzzle devices with Rockset. Heat will NOT work to break the bond. Thats why its used as a suppressor mount adhesive. The gunsmith likely didnt know this. He prob applied heat and then tried to twist it off, bending the upper. I know it's touted the Rocksett doesn't break down...
