Re: Keyholing with UMC 115gr?

Have you noticed any light loads - sounds different, not cycling? Would not use them with my suppressor on! Let us know what turns up.... It was tough to pay that close of attention to it as we shot between 850-1000 rounds and I was the only one shooting suppressed so I still had to wear my ear-pro...

Re: Keyholing with UMC 115gr?

Well, back from the suppressor dealer and we looked at mine and one of theirs and they both looked the same, so my baffles look okay. I'm at a loss for what to think with this one. I've still got ~700 rounds of this UMC ammo but now I'm not sure I trust it in my rig.

Re: Keyholing with UMC 115gr?

Keyhole, like full side profile bullet holes? I have no idea how a bullet would make it through the silencer then go completely sideways at 25. Is there any possibility of the bullet hitting something before the target? Yep, a full silhouette of the bullet in the paper. It really left me scratching...

Keyholing with UMC 115gr?

I went to a carbine training course this weekend and used my 8" 300BLK with the Noveske barrel and a 762-SDN-6 suppressor. I shot approximately 850 rounds of the Remington UMC 115gr ammo over two days. I had two confirmed keyholes at between 25 and 50 yards. I don't know if there were more as w...

Re: Wait time after approval

I AM SUPER PUMPED!!!!! I just called and got approved on april 19th for a AAC 762SDN-6 as well as a SilencerCo Sparrow ss. My question is how long does it usually take to go from approved to your dealer having the paperwork in hand? Thanks everyone! Best - Tom Typically you're dealer will get the a...

Re: NFA Transfer Times

Sure you can, you just have to be added to the trust. oh... Didn't know it was that simple. I will talk to my friend about it. edit: He said no becuase that will open up his house for ATF searches  By the way, that's a total myth. No sense pressing the issue though. If he's not comfortable wi...

Re: NFA Transfer Times

Anyone know the approximate wait for someone in Nevada? I sent a Form 1 in on April 2, and my check hasn't cleared yet. I have some items going on a form 3 to my dealer, and they went pending on April 11 even though the store submitted the paperwork on March 23. I was thinking seven months, but may...

Re: SBR wait time vs Silencer wait time

I talked with NFA branch today and we now officially have a 6 month wait time from pending for Form 1's and 4's.... joy... ;-\ Nothing new about that. That has been their standard answer since mid/late 2011. We really just need to get suppressors off of the NFA control. That would lighten the ATF w...

Re: Why all the hate for the 300 BLK?

I am perfectly fine with correcting misinformation, but there are better places to do that than in this thread.

I'm just saying this thread comes off as petty and full of self pity and I like to think this community is better than that.
