H110 pretty close (almost identical) to W296?
My 16" carbine gas will cycle no problems with silencer on.
Gas port .120"
17.9gr W296
CCI BR4 primer
125 Nosler BT (or 130gr Barnes TTSX)
2.060 OAL
This also cycles no problem without suppressor for me.

Re: Calculating speed of sound
Altitude is not a statistically significant factor in determining speed of sound. Temperature is the only variable you need to deal with. This is a calculator for SOS: http://www.sengpielaudio.com/calculator-speedsound.htm Pressure and Density (in an ideal) are equal and opposite; in effect cancel ...

Re: Are my loads way off?
If shooting through a traditional chrony while testing subsonics, I found it was helpful to shoot through a blast shield; essentially a barrier with a 2" vertical slot to shoot through, placed in front of the chrony. I was sometimes seeing random velocities, apparently caused by high speed powd...

Re: Hello! + Velocity / Philosophy Question
I tried 2 subsonic loads today that were exactly the same except for the OAL 2.180 and 2.220. There was quite a difference in speed/consistency/accuracy. I was surprised to see such a change just by adjusting the OAL. Series #8 Shots:10 Bullet: Hornady Amax 208gr Min 1025 Max 1098 Powder: A1680 @ 1...

Re: Chronograph recommendations
Another one for magnetospeed. I just imported a V2 from the U.S. Just changed from a 16 to 12.5" barrel. No sighting in done, within 5 minutes had 5 strings of 5 shots measured and archived for development. Didn't have to sight in first (to ensure I didn't shoot a traditional type chrony). Done...

Re: Puttin Meat in the Freezer!
Once I finish some garage projects I believe my next endeavor will be to get a processing area set up. Any tips for us newbies? ; Follow the pros (butchers)... A decent rail and hooks for hanging the carcass. Decent size stainless tops for easy cleaning; personally I would like one at least wide/lo...
