Re: AAC medium contour build

Nice looking rifle there. I have almost the same. I am still waiting on my reloading supplies to get in. I have some 208gr Amax's ordered. I'll try the VV110.

Re: Super Sonic Ammo - What is really going on here ???

The 123 grain ammo bullet was not as good as we thought it could be, so we decided to do a custom bullet rather than just use an AK-style bullet. Sorry I don't mean to jack the thread, but does that mean that the bullet does not come from existing inventory? How different is it comparing to existin...

Re: 30-30 bullets for hunting?

I might try those 90grain xtp's The 22lr doesn't expand much, I was using a RWS Subs. When they got my attention they were about a two feet from each other squared off. My dog is only about 7 months old, so even though she thinks she is bad ass, she would have got tore up pretty bad. I had to make s...

Re: 30-30 bullets for hunting?

There are only a few expensive specialty bullets that will expand subsonic. I've always questioned the need, I'll probably never shoot anything with subs that I wouldn't be willing to shoot with FMJ. I just don't have a need to be that quiet that I would give up all that terminal performance. The r...

Re: 30-30 bullets for hunting?

Sorry should have been more specific, its for a bolt gun and HAS to be loaded subsonic.

Or is that what your telling me, to load the 130gr to subsonic velocities to get expansion?

30-30 bullets for hunting?

I am going to reload so ammo and I have been wondering how it would work if I used 17o grain or 180 grain round nose bullets made for a 30-30. I would ASSume that they would be made to expand at slower velocities. I know that I would be giving up some on the ballistic side, but I would be hope to ga...

Re: Will 300 BLK work in .223 AICS mags?

FTF was the biggest problem. Had a problem stripping the top round off sometimes. It usually happened when I was working the bolt too fast, I would have to slow down and the reliability would improve.

Remington 220gr Subsonic ammo NOT subsonic (round 2)

Well I haven't heard back from remington after then said that they were going to send me a return label and replace my ammo. Last response was May 25. But I went to the range today and the ammo was running from a low 1125fps to a high of 1153fps. I am at about 8'-12' above sea level depending on the...

Re: Will 300 BLK work in .223 AICS mags?

I'm considering an AICS chassis for my Rem 700 project and I'm curious to know if anyone has tried the 300 BLK with .223 AICS mags? Do they work without modification? Before I plunk down $1,000 for a stock I'd like to know. I tried it and it was not perfect, but worked 90+% of the time. I ha...
