Re: Subsonic 180 gr. load?

I made the rounds in .1grn increments from 9.0-9.0 grains. After test cycling by hand I lowered COL from 2.20 to 2.05. I still have not been able to get to the range because of weather

Re: What does it take to convert a 25WSSM AR to 300 BLK?

Olympic Arms says that nothing in the upper is the same as any parts in a 5.56 or 300BLk upper so a complete new upper it is.

Re: Lifespan of converted brass

I just started with a batch of LC once fired, but only plan on reloading subsonic. Do you think I should get a few more uses since Ill be shooting lower pressure loads?

What does it take to convert a 25WSSM AR to 300 BLK?

I have a friend who has a custom 25 WSSM that he never uses and he wants to convert it to 300 BLK. After a few hours of web searching I have conflicting results. Some say that only a new BCG and barrel are needed, but I have found some statements that the barrel extension is longer in the 25 WSSM so...

Re: Subsonic 180 gr. load?

Why COL are you using?

I am working on 180 Gn Sierra SP with IMR 4227. I have worked up the loads but I'm trying to figure out best COL. The manuals all say 2.20 but all load data from forum members state that they have the best success with COl's closer to 2.10 to cycle an AR.

COL advice for test load

I am attempting to load Sierra 180gn SP at subsonic velocity and have it cycle a 8.5' AR. I started the load at 9.0 and worked up to 9.6 with IMR 4227. Currently IMR 4227 and Lil Gun are the only powders available to me. I thought optimal COL was 2.20 but after reading all these posts it seems that ...

Re: never worked a loadup before looking for some guidance

There is no where close for me to test rifle rounds, so I load many test rounds. I found a mathematical starting point for the subsonic load I am working on and will start by producing 5 rounds each at .1gn intervals up .5gn and down .5gn. After I test the rounds for velocity and accuracy I will fid...

Re: never worked a loadup before looking for some guidance

You will waste more money in bullets and primers than a chrono costs, by trying to work up a load without one. You can get a decent one for $100.

Re: Subsonic Load Testing Process

I have the same questions, so thinks for posting. I think that once you get a sub 1" group you can be confident that the bullet is stable. I am starting with 5 rounds each at different loads in .1 grain intervals. i take a lot if test rounds to the range the first time because it is not close d...
