Re: Sanity check me - 300 BO Kaboom from reload

Sound more like Secondary Explosion Effect (SEE). http://reloadammo.com/liteload.htm AA#9 sub loads have a super low case fill and if the charge was even lighter, SEE makes sense. That being said, with how quickly pressures can spike with AA#9 in 300 BLK, what could normally be a small error in char...

Re: Hodgdon Lil Gun

Been doing 300 BLK load development & testing since 2010. LilGun' has been dropped from my primary lineup for 300 BLK. The powders that produce the best results are: N110, N120, W296, & H110 Others work just fine, but don't do as well with velocity, ES, and clean burning. A1680 & LilGun'...

Re: Optimal Stragety to find good loads without wasting a lot of bullets and primers?

Here is a snip-it out of my Load Dev notes: ****Rapid Load Development Process**** #1 Start with the rifle and components. Research what “should” work well for your scenario. This can be from others’ experiences, published load data. #2 Start load development with 10-shot or expanded 10-shot (50 sho...

Re: Primer compatability

The Rem 7 1/2 is slightly hotter and has a thicker primer cup than the Fed GMM SR Primer. Min issue switching between the two. The biggest issue using small pistol primers is the risk of slam fires due to the AR15 floating firing pin, as well as an increased risk of pierced primers. (Small Pistol Pr...

Re: Greetings & Salutations

Welcome! Buy once, cry once... There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum. Just checking out past threads will save you month, if not years of development time. As long as you have time to spend on it, hand-loading for 300 BLK will save you a ton of money in the long run and also yield the best pe...

Re: How safe is running cast or coated through a suppressor?

You will definitively get lead & lube in your can with cast.
Much less with coated, but the coating on the boolits goes through hell while being fired.

My suppressors are all sealed and I do not clean them.
What I do is inspect them and fire a string of full power loads to blow all the crap out.

Re: Basic Casting Manual

http://www.lasc.us/Fryxell_Book_Contents.htm It's free. It's much more in-depth on several subjects. I'd highly recommend that ALL new casters read it. I'd 2nd this.... I printed this out and made my own bound book. A close second is the Lyman book. https://www.lymanproducts.com/media/catalog/produ...

Re: Subsonic desintegrating bullets

Welcome and don't be too concerned about your English. I'm assuming you are looking for something that is either frangible or has a thin jacket with rapid expansion. Unfortunately, subsonic projectiles in 300 BLK are 180 grains & heavier. This inherently lends itself to weight retention and is c...
