Re: Silencerco's Omega or Saker

I worked out a deal - my Form 4 for the Saker was an "any day now" thing but I'm cancelling and getting the Omega instead. The biggest lesson I learned running a YHM 762 SS Phantom through a few carbine classes, is that LIGHTER IS BETTER! But I bought that Saker almost exactly 12 months ag...

Re: Silencerco's Omega or Saker

I'm trying to get my SOT to trade me straight up for my Saker on a Form 3 at his place right now for an Omega...

Re: Barnes BC list

Any online sources for the 120gr loading? The local Cabelas hasn't started stocking it yet and I'm trying to get some to a lab for some ballistic testing.

Re: Good tactical flashlight

For a medium size bulletproof flashlight with great performance and a good price, you'll be hard pressed to find something better than the EAG version of the Surefire P2X Fury (with the clicky tailcap). Remember when you are shopping that it isn't only about the lumens - it is about situational awar...

Re: Magtech 115gr forthcoming.

I was trying to butter him up to maybe get a few thousand of the projos myself... I figure if their 147gr bullet is currently about the cheapest plinking projo I can find regularly, then a lighter 300blk projo will hopefully be about the same price (I figure there is a lot of economy of scale ...

Re: 8.5" cmmg WAASP Barrel ar15 110gr TAC TX H110 loads?

I haven't used BR primers but I find that my ES and SD go way down running magnum primers on any ball or flattened ball powder. Stick powders (namely Varget and 4064) I haven't seen a difference in my experience.

Re: Magtech 115gr forthcoming.

More definite timeline: They are hoping to have it for sale under the S&B line by Q2 2015.

I realize this was announced early this year, but I was conversing with a higher-up at CBC about it and thought an update would be appreciated.

Re: Accuracy with Suppressor Problems

A quick note on barrel Harmonics; ladder testing is designed (in my understanding) to minimize the effect of harmonics by locating the load inside a node where the bullet is ostensibly leaving the barrel near the center of its travel during "whipping." Likely a good reason an F-Class shoot...

Re: Scope for a 300BLK

My P300 turrets moved coming out of my rifle bag, and when I adjusted back to zero I had them a full revolution off on windage. A 50 yard shot on a deer aimed at the lungs would have missed completely regardless of which direction it was facing, and especially so if it was a quartering shot. Also, h...

Magtech 115gr forthcoming.

I have it on good authority that Magtech has developed a 115gr 300blk cartridge (a company representative was shooting it at a recent class). Unfortunately it sounds like they are so backlogged that timeline on the release is currently unknown. I'm hoping this means an inexpensive 300blk-specific pl...
