Re: Resizing cast boolits
If you're BUYING cast bullets, they're generally already sized. If you're casting your own, you might want to size them.

Re: 300 Blackout gold rush!
I have not purchased many AR 15 barrels, 10 or so, but, IMHO it is really hard to beat Noveske, not because they are so awesome, lol but, if you buy from a retailer, like Midway, use the 10% off coupon, you get a good quality barrel, a good gas block, that has been pinned, and a good gas tube, with...

Re: Chamber dimensions/geometry question.
OAL is also going to be bullet dependant. Some bullets (like 30 carbine bullets) just won't cycle well in an AR. Most of the recepies posted in this forum are known to work well in the AR platform. Start there. Something easy, and readily available is always a good place to start. Then as you get mo...

Re: 300 blk project help
You have to figure out what's keeping the bolt from locking. It can be just about anything. If you think it's the gas tube, remove it and then try get that bolt locked into the barrel lugs. If it still doesn't go, then you know the issue is in the bolt/carrier/barrel extension interface, and you sta...

Re: New Bullet from Rainier Ballistics LLC--Maybe
Check this same thing out on Cast Boolits forum. They were going to do the same thing over there about a year ago and then pulled the vanishing act and left everybody hoping. Might have gotten ahead of their self before checking everything out. Hope this turns out better. About a year ago, I talked...

Re: "Showing signs of pressure" What does this mean & look l
The primer in the Wolf case above is scary flat, especially for a 45 ACP. I would stop shooting high-pressure rifle ammo if primers came out that flat. Yes, handgun primers are thinner so flatten under less pressure, but that's about the flattest handgun primer I've ever seen. I got 5 boxes of 50 o...

Re: Chamber dimensions/geometry question.
The depth of seating in this round, for your AR anyway, is determined by the rib in the magazine that typically guides a .223 round by indexing on the case neck. With the 300 BLACKOUT, this rib will contact the bullet, so you want your bullet diameter at the rib in the magazine to be the area that h...

The last can of 1680 I got was from Cabela's. I have also got some at Bass Pro at one time.Jargonhead wrote:Agree on that, I always have to order 1680, wish someone could do something about that!

Re: Reforming Brass
Well, that's a lot of steps!. I just chop off the tip at the bottom of the shoulder, size and trim.
The piece on the left, the "finished" piece, looks like the shoulder is higher then the rest. Maybe it's just due to the case being alittle more in the foreground?
