Re: Space between rail and suppressor on your SBR

With an 8.5" rail you could get a little interference. Depending on which mounting system you use. The pic below is with a Noveske 8.5" Navy barrel with a BCM 7" KMR which actually measures 7.3" in length. So with a 1.2" difference in length, there is only about .5" of ...

Re: Looking for a mini lathe

So I bought (traded for) an early 90's Smithy lathe a little over 2 years ago. I used it like crazy and it was a great $600 investment. It taught me a lot. In December I decided to upgrade to a lathe which would be more precise and gave me more options. I sold the Smithy for $1K and ordered the Griz...

Re: 6.5 Creedmor more popular than 300 Blackout?

6.5 Creedmoor and 300BLK are about as opposite as you can get. They are at the opposite ends of the application realm and the ballistic coefficient charts as well. In order to make the mental leap from 6.5 CM to 300BLK you would be jumping over just about every other caliber available. Clearly TM ha...

Re: Recessed suppressor/silencer SBR regrets

I know I am in the minority.......but I hated mine after it was built. To me the downsides mandated that I go another way.....so I sold the 12" rail and went with an 8" KMR rail. I am very happy now. For me the downsides were..... 1 - Heat coming through the rail. 2 - Suppressor endcap st...

Re: Recessed suppressor/silencer SBR regrets

I know I am in the minority.......but I hated mine after it was built. I had a 9" barrel with a 12" Seekins handguard. It looked cool, but I really didn't like it. The handguards ahve to be VERY LARGE and I really prefer the newer slimmer KMR style rails. To me the downsides mandated that ...
