Re: New CMMG upper FTF issues...
I'm adding to this thread to keep the audience broader. New developments, it seems the PNW 220 grain ammo cycles the CMMG upper/lower combo just fine (using an H1 buffer now). Talked with an experienced AR guy today, and he actually called his POC at CMMG who said the Remmie 220 grain is notorious f...

Re: Short Stroking with the can in place. Any help appreciat
Thanks, I'm not sure this applies to the CMMG M-4 styled upper (has the standard M-4 gas arrangement, not a flat=top or compact model. It's either on there right or not, not adjustable, at least that's what CMMG said when I called today. I'm trying a heavier buffer, that and see if the action "...

Re: Short stroking with CMMG 16 inch upper - conversation/CM
Thanks for all the replies. I will probably try the heavy buffer first, as that seems to make sense and isn't too expensive. I will report back here after more testing.
I have shot a few rounds of full power, and they cycle fine.
The upper is accurate - no problem there.

Short stroking with CMMG 16 inch upper - conversation/CMMG
I just hung up the phone with Brent at CMMG about my new 16 inch M4-style upper FTF issues with Rem 220 gr. subsonic. His bottom line recommendation is to change the buffer to an H3 or tungsten model that is heavier, to hold the bolt in battery a bit longer and increase the gas action that way. He a...

I've got the same exact problem of FTF, short stroking, with subsonic rounds only in my new CMMG. Can you elaborate on the "adjustments" made, how done, etc?
I wasn't aware this had different gas settings, etc.
Seems a shame in a new upper made for 300 blk to have these issues.

New CMMG upper FTF issues...
I just acquired the CMMG upper, mated it with a CMMG lower (Multi-cal Mk IV), threaded on a YHM .30 cal can, and find the 220 gr Rem subsonic won't feed. Rarely chambers a new round, sometimes stovepipes, - also doesn't hold open after last round. Is it undergassed, or should I consider a lighter re...

Re: Anyone used a Silencerco Osprey on 300blk?
Well, that's kind of what I was thinking. I'm surprised SilencerCo did not have a very large, prominent disclaimer that full power should not be used through the Ospreys. The BLK rounds look pretty much identical, and it would be really easy to "accidentally" mix them up... I think I'll ju...

Re: Anyone used a Silencerco Osprey on 300blk?
Fascinating...
I wonder what the max load the Osprey would really handle? Would it be damaged by the 147 grain supersonics? Or the Black Tip Barnes 110 gr. supers?
My upper is on order, and I cannot wait!
