Re: Let's see those powdercoating setups

I'm interested in getting this craftsman set-up not only for powdercoating bullets but for small odd painting jobs. would powder from Harbor Freight or Powder buy the pound work on this? any foreseeable problems with these two powders? Powder is pretty much powder as far as the gun is concerned. As...

Re: Let's see those powdercoating setups

The tray inside the toaster oven, with nuts (I originally used gas checks) covered with non-stick aluminum foil.

I have this and the HF unit and actually prefer this because it's light and simple ...

Re: Harbor Freight Powdercoat kit

You won't need much - they sell small air compressors (3 or so gallons?) that should be plenty for the low pressure/low volume needed for the kit. Around $50 or so, even less if you've got a coupon.

Re: HM2 312-155-2 (Lee copy)

Right now the lee 230 grain bullets are giving me fits. They do everything great accept hit the target. My groups stink at 100 yards. Looking at reaming the boat tail off or buying a plain based bullet. Are you running them powder coated? Powder coated ones tend to do a lot better than traditional ...

Re: Bullet design question

Great question, and it's come up a few times before - the concession is an astounding "no" as the powder coat tends to act like a jacketed bullet. Consider this: there are actually many designs out on the market that have no lube grooves - they are for "paper patched" rounds. If ...

Re: novice questions - POWDER COATING

I have posted it before and I will post it again. I have tested the 400 degree TGIC powder to failure. I started out at ~2,800 fps and had zero issues. I slowly worked up to the point where I was starting to see lead in the bore. That velocity was 3,300+ fps. I generally post that it is good to 3,2...

Somewhere on another forum someone ran a few hundred rounds through his, with what appeared to be almost no leading.

Re: Powdercoating bullets

Consider getting one of the WAI guns off Ebay rather than the Harbor Freight unit. About the same price but much more compact and doesn't need an air supply. Basically a hair dryer! It's the same as the Craftsman unit I use.

Totally. Awesome.

So they don't stick to the hardware cloth at all? No marks on the boolits from it either?
