Re: UMC - 30 shot group at 100

Hooper, Now it all makes sense. I was wondering why more than a year has passed since you promised to make good on replacing my barrel you screwed up, the first time. You kept telling me you were still busy and would get around to it. I just assumed "busy" meant "work busy." App...

Re: Just a word of warning for those converting .223 to 300

Remington 223 brass make nice 300blk brass. Federal brass is ok but you get half the life with same load vs Remington case.

Re: UMC - 30 shot group at 100

Hoop. You obviously have an agenda and we are all very happy for you. But you made some claims and you were presented with the opportunity to either put up or shut up and you have done neither. The 300 Balckout has its uses like any other cartridge. If those uses do not suit your liking then go use...

Re: 308 vs 300 blk

I have a factory Remington 700PSS that shoots 220 gr sub sonic ammo just fine. 1 moa I thought the PSS was a 1-12 twist? I haven't had a 1-12 .30cal barrel that stabilized 220's to any satisfaction. As for the thought of a bolt gun, unless I had a short action, 223 bolt laying around, I'd just buil...

Re: UMC - 30 shot group at 100

When Fred Fox left Remington, so did the rigorous attention to detail and steps taken to achieve match accuracy. You may not have heard of him, it was before your time. Years ago, (after Fred's time) there were problems with 308 match ammo not holding 1moa accuracy. It was bad, 2-4 moa. A Leading Al...

Re: 308 vs 300 blk

When the 300 blk started taking off I got an ar upper. I like it but I honestly use the 556 more. I have been waiting to get the model 700 sps in 300 blk. But I got to thinking that really that I would probably get more out of it if I got it in .308 just because of the supersonic advantages. But wo...

Re: Frustrated

Which side of the mag is the round feeding from when this happens? Have you tried different mags?

Re: Frustrated

Looks to me like the feedramps are distorting the case enough to swell the round causing it to be out of spec when it tries to enter the chamber. Look @ the bullet nose. Is it trying to catch on the back of the barrel? Does the rear of the barrel have enough chamfer or are your rounds too long?

Re: 308 vs 300 blk

Sorry guys I meant to say for a bolt gun We are experiencing less than acceptable accuracy out of the 300blk in the AR15 platform with factory ammo. We are able to hold MOA with handloads if extensive case prep is done. On a bolt action rifle, the .308 Winchester would be a better choice. You could...

Re: UMC - 30 shot group at 100

So Robert. If I'm getting these groups with the UMC ammo how much more accurate is the 125gr match ammo? Robert can answer for himself, but our findings are that there is no change in accuracy. 3-4 moa.......... selling off all our 300blk uppers, barrels, loading dies, brass, ammo etc... I am keepi...
