Re: S/E Michigan Cerakote
Not sure how close to the SE area he is, but I know the owner from TC Armory and he does coating. I think he's in Traverse City. Not sure where that is in relation to you. I'm in the UP.

Re: 300 BO short barrel on a approved (with stamp) 5.56 lower
To the best of my knowledge that is correct.
NFA always marked.
Title I not marked if not an FFL, not exporting or entering commerce (sale, trade, gifted).

Re: 300 BO short barrel on a approved (with stamp) 5.56 lower
ATF is encouraging lowers not to be marked with caliber or "multi" since there isn't a designation of caliber at the time, nor can be predicted. Having the receiver/frame marked with manufacturer, city, state and the barrel to said firearm marked with caliber is acceptable and has been for...

Re: Suppressed plinking .38 spl vs. 308w vs 300 aac.
I disagree. Use an appropriate powder for the task and it is a non-issue.
The BLK is better than 308 because it will cycle an AR15 whereas most subsonic 308 won't cycle an AR10/AR308. In a bolt gun neither is better than the other.

Re: Suppressed plinking .38 spl vs. 308w vs 300 aac.
The 357 rifle might not be as friendly with cast bullets as the others. A lot of throat issues according to the guys on the CB forum. You will likely have to tinker with the sizing to get it right more than others. 308 subsonic is easy to load, quiet as other subsonic rifle rounds, and doesn't give ...

Re: 300 Blk Out Law Enforcement Use
1997 North Hollywood shootout is one of the best examples. Cops didn't have rifles in the squad cars, so they had to go to a gun store to get AR15s to use until a few SWAT guys showed up. That is beyond pathetic. 18 years ago it woke up many smaller police departments, but some are still behind the ...

Re: 300 blk Subsonic Hunting Primer
I don't completely disagree with the above, but I don't completely agree with it either. A non expanding subsonic can kill, of that no doubt. I have done it. the issue with the 300blk is these long heavy non expanding bullets have no issue hitting and penetrating deep, the problem is they penetrate...

Re: 300 blk Subsonic Hunting Primer
I'm hunting with subs and I'm still a newb. So this thread is encouraging especially since I just read this article by Nick Leghorn... http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/09/foghorn/protip-dont-use-subsonic-300-blk-for-hunting/ Don't hunt with subsonic 300BLK he says. Wow. That sounds bad? I pers...

Re: Order of Operations for Reforming/Reloading .223 to 300 blk
Hm, didn't know they made one that would trim it all the way from 223. But the interwebs have provided me an education. Wonder how those blades hold up over time, having to do that much cutting? The couple of videos I saw, it looks like you've got to take it fairly slow, too--I wonder if it's reall...
