Re: At what distance do you zero your red dots?
This is all really good info. While I've had shotguns and pistols at the ready, this is the first rifle I've ever set and considered for up close type HD use. And yes, with the sight so high on an AR (and I like lower third height, so it's even a little worse), I do understand the issue completely ...

need help picking silencer for 300 blk
I have been around the silencerco omega 30, and the arc sdn762, so far the omega is the one I have my eyes on. Lightweight, very little first round pop, and quiet with subs.
My main concern is first round pop. Then weight.
Does anyone have any experience in comparison of anything better?

90 grain xtp mushrooming ?
I have loaded some subsonic loads with trailboss, and 90 grain XTP bullets. shooting thru a five gallon bucket the bullets did not expand. does anyone know if they will expand in an animal? Im thinking a 90 grain pistol bullet should expand in a body cavity.

Re: PVS 14 mount
The one I use most is this base
http://tnvc.com/shop/aimpoint-twist-mount-base/
mounted to multiple guns
and this ring attached to the nvg. it doesn't interfere with the j arm mounted to the nvg.

sorry don't know what the d loc is.
