Re: 5/8" x 24 vs. 1/2" x 28 for a 300 can

Maybe its a factory Colt thing. Both my Lightweight Sporter Carbine and SMG 9mm upper are ½x36. Of the two other shooters I know that have them, ½x36. Again, they are Colts too. Regardless of you belief, it was the standard for 9mm for many, many years. To keep folks from putting their 5.56 flash h...

Re: light primer strikes

I took the bolt apart, it is a Micro 7/Model 7, and cleaned inside the bolt, the spring and such. The light strikes dropped from 18% to 5% all with 110 grain Hornady soft points. Also Trail Boss powder and Rem 7.5 benchrest primers. Of the 5% 2/3 were with reformed military brass and 1/3 was with r...

Re: Straight Blowback 300 blk?

Your combined bolt weight and spring poundage would be formidable. You could do it but it may require a gun bearer to carry and a linebacker to cock.

Re: HeAd space

Gauges are not that expensive. On a no go gauge you should never be able to close the bolt.Your chamber should be clean and ejector and extractor removed.
*The old Enfield P-14 P-17 you will be able to close the bolt most of the way as the locking shoulders are cam like but it should never bottom out.

Re: Form 1 can build

Capt. Link, You say you are a builder so I am asking questions from a builder. Your only response is I would be breaking the Law. If you are a builder and you bugger a baffle in the build phase do you have to still use the baffle or can you destroy that one and make a new one? I See why you interpr...

Re: 10.5" with 9mm can seems a LOT louder than a 16"

Some suppressors work better with higher pressure gas that a shorter barrel will give and some may be overwhelmed by it.I think if you re-ran your test using a different baffle style or two your results will change.I know and have heard many times a can on a rifle is louder than the same can on a pi...
